Ocean Florida Travel Agency Will Pay You to “Test” Florida Theme Parks

by Aly Kirk · January 14, 2020

Have you ever pictured your dream job? What did it look like, exactly? Did it include roller coasters, character shows, parades, or brand merchandise?

While most jobs might include the usual 8:00 a.m. coffee and staff meetings, more and more opportunities are opening up so that experiences and adventures will actually make you money.

Ocean Florida, a travel agency based in the United Kingdom, has posted a job listing for a theme park tester. Yes, you heard right, a theme park tester. Ocean Florida is offering a three-week all-expenses paid trip to test and review some of Florida’s most-loved theme parks and their attractions.

The hired individual will receive an amount of £3,000, equivalent to about US$3,900, to spend at the parks. In addition, all travel costs, accommodations, fast pass expenses, and photo pass expenses, as well as a daily activity budget, are covered for the selected tester and one friend, courtesy of Ocean Florida. How else are you supposed to try the infamous and delicious Hogsmeade butterbeer at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter?

Now, this isn’t just one or two parks. According to the job listing, the tester will have the opportunity to visit the following parks:

  • Walt Disney World Resort
    • Magic Kingdom
    • Epcot
    • Animal Kingdom
    • Hollywood Studios
    • Blizzard Beach
    • Typhoon Lagoon
    • Disney Springs
  • Universal Orlando Resort
    • Universal Studios
    • Islands of Adventure
    • Volcano Bay
    • City Walk
  • SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment
    • SeaWorld
    • Busch Gardens
    • Aquatica
    • Discovery Cove
  • And more!

During the three weeks, the tester will be provided with a GoPro and a Fitbit to document daily activities, rides, food, and entertainment. Daily documentation is important since it will help in “providing essential feedback” to Ocean Florida.

On the job description page is a list of criteria to document everything about the parks – overall experience; quality and variety of food and drink; souvenirs and brand merchandise; suitability for families/couples; thrill factor for each ride, show, and display; parades; and photo ops.

The deadline to apply for the theme park tester position is January 31, and the application is available on the Ocean Florida website until then. The opportunity is open to those in the UK who are 18 and older.

Happy travels!
