Hogwarts Couples Who Need Their Own Songs

Whether these couples were endgame or simply cute at the time, they are definitely memorable. The romantic relationships in the Harry Potter series didn’t define the plot, but they made for some interesting character development. Some of the relationships created growth and long-lasting friendships between the characters, such as Harry and Ginny, but some floundered and ended for the worst. No matter your personal opinions on each pairing, these relationships were exciting to read about!

 

 

 

1. Harry and Ginny – “Hearts Don’t Break Around Here” by Ed Sheeran

Once Harry and Ginny became a couple, it was clear that they had eyes only for each other. With this in mind, the song “Hearts Don’t Break Around Here” by Ed Sheeran fits them perfectly. Ron and Hermione don’t seem destined to be together with their constant fighting and arguments, but something about them is perfect when they’re together. 3. Hagrid and Madame Maxime – “Another Love” by Tom Odell

Even though they weren’t endgame, Hagrid and Madame Maxime were an adorable couple. They both came from a similar background, cared for their students, and weren’t scared by dragons. For Hagrid, it seemed that he had finally found the perfect woman! However, Madame Maxime had to return to her school in France. “Another Love” is all about losing an important relationship and being afraid to love afterward. We as readers don’t know if Hagrid ever moved on, but he showed interest only in Madame Maxime. This song highlights just how significant Hagrid and Madame Maxime’s relationship was for both of them.

I’m forever salty that these two didn’t end up together. When I think of this couple, I want to cry because of their tragic ending. When it comes to love songs that make me cry, “Chasing Cars” is at the top of the list. The song is about being consumed by love and a life shared together, and that’s the sort of relationship Lily and James had. Whether you love or hate them, this couple has one of the most passionate relationships in the Potter series. Ron and Lavender are both impulsive and intense people, so “Fire on Fire” fits their relationship perfectly. The song is about the heat of the moment, how two supercharged people can become like “fire” when in a relationship. Ron and Lavender had their good moments; they did care for each other in the beginning, but the fire eventually went out.

For such a lovely endgame, you need a timeless song. “Be My Baby” reminds me of the sweetness and sincerity of Arthur and Molly’s relationship. The song is about a couple that’s been together for a long time, but their love still feels new. Arthur and Molly sometimes act like love-struck teenagers because they are genuinely delighted to be around one another. Like their relationship, the song is light and fun. I love how unproblematic Arthur and Molly’s relationship is. Both of them are protective and kind-hearted, so their dispositions match up.
