“Hogwarts Legacy” Launches on Nintendo Switch 2

Since the announcement that Nintendo was developing a new and improved version of its Switch console, fans have been wondering which games will launch on the platform. As of today, Hogwarts Legacy officially joins the console’s roster.

Hogwarts Legacy has been topping gaming charts since its release, so it’s no wonder that Nintendo looked to the wizarding world for a new version of the game for the Nintendo Switch 2. This version has been co-developed by Avalanche Software, the original creators of Hogwarts Legacy, and Krome Studios. The game has been updated for use with the Joy-Con 2 controllers and boasts improved graphics, load times, and audio to match the new console.

Hogwarts Legacy for the Switch 2 has been on presale since May, when details about the game’s updates were shared alongside a gameplay trailer for this specific version. The Digital Standard Edition is $59.99, while the Digital Deluxe version is $69.99. Both versions are available at a discount for those who already own Hogwarts Legacy on the Switch.

 

 

The news of a different version of Hogwarts Legacy is a positive for the game’s future. While mod kits for PC players have recently been introduced and stories of a sequel are still rife, the cancellation of the rumored Hogwarts Legacy Definitive Edition caused some doubts.

Warner Bros. Games today announced that Hogwarts Legacy for Nintendo Switch 2 is now available for digital preorder. The Hogwarts Legacy Nintendo Switch 2 gameplay trailer also debuted today showcasing the enhanced visuals and seamless open-world traversal.

Fans can pre-order the Digital Standard Edition for $59.99 (SRP), and the Digital Deluxe Edition for $69.99 (SRP) and can check with their preferred retailers for pre-order availability of the Physical Edition. The digital edition of Hogwarts Legacy for Nintendo Switch 2 is available at a discount to players who already own the digital or physical* Nintendo Switch edition.
