US “Deathly Hallows” Sells 8.3 Million Copies

In its first 24 hours on sale, Scholastic has announced that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has sold 8.3 million copies in the United States. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince had sold 6.9 million copies in its first day on sale back on July 16, 2005.
