The stars of Potter continue to react to the exciting news that J.K. Rowling will be writing a film based on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Several have even expressed interest in returning to the wizarding world in some aspect.
The 51st New York Film Festival honored Ralph Fiennes last night in New York City. Ralph was named one of this year’s Gala Tributes, along with Cate Blanchett, who was honored last week. MuggleNet was in attendance and talked with Ralph about his new film, “The Invisible Woman” – and of course, “Fantastic Beasts.”

While out promoting his latest film release, The Rise, Matthew Lewis commented on the upcoming Harry Potter spinoff, Fantastic Beasts. It is fairly safe to say he isn’t quite as clued in on the subject as his fellow Potter alumni.
It has been just over one week since we learned that J.K. Rowling was writing a screenplay set in the wizarding world and revolving around Newt Scamander, the “supposed author of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” Speculation has been nonstop since then, and we here at MuggleNet, of course, have not been immune!
To add to the recent news that Warner Bros. will be producing a new film series based on the life of Newt Scamander, fictional author of the book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, titled Fantastic Beasts, The Hollywood Reporter is now reporting that the Rowling deal for the film series has been in the making for OVER ONE YEAR!
