UK Fans: Join the “Career of Evil” Scavenger Hunt!

It’s just over two weeks until the third book in the Cormoran Strike series, Career of Evil, is released, and while that wait may seem interminable, the Crime Vault has a very interesting proposition for UK fans – which could lead to winning a signed copy of Career of Evil!

It all started with a mysterious message on Twitter this morning:

MuggleNet was on the case! When we called the number, an exciting opportunity was revealed:

Greetings and thank you for your call. By phoning this number you have already proven yourself to be naturally inquisitive, and something of a detective.

If you are also a fan of Robert Galbraith’s Cormoran Strike novels, you’ll be aware that the brand new book ‘Career of Evil’ is due for imminent release on […] 20th [sic] October.

Answer the following question correctly and work against the clock in an exclusive Cormoran [S]trike escape experience at Hint Hunt in London the day after publication on 21st [sic] October.

You’ll have to call the number yourself to hear the question – but we figured that you’d want to do that anyway! Here are a few more things you need to know from the Terms and Conditions:

  • You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of Great Britain to enter.
  • Qualifying entrants must be available on the October 21 in London between the hours of 11:45 a.m. and 8 p.m. to be eligible to take advantage of the prize. You must also be able to arrange travel to London and the venue set out in Section 4 (travel expenses will not be provided).
  • The promotion will open on October 5 at midday London time and close on October 15 at 5 p.m. London time. (so you have 10 days to get your entry in!)

Answering the question correctly does not guarantee that you will get to be a part of the scavenger hunt – it simply enters you in a drawing for the opportunity. Only 25 lucky entrants will have the chance to participate! If you are selected, you will be assigned a team and one of five time slots. You and your team will have one hour to complete a set challenge (each team will have the same one), after which all participants will receive a goody bag, including a copy of the new book and other yet-to-be-announced treats! The top two performing teams – and here’s the really exciting part – will win a signed copy of Career of Evil personalized by Robert Galbraith himself!

So what are you guys waiting for? Get your entries in now – and good luck to all!

I've been making magic at MuggleNet since 2012, when I first joined the staff as a News intern. I've never wavered from the declaration in my childhood journal, circa October 2000: "I LOVE Harry Potter! If I clean my room, my mom says she'll make me a dinner a wizard would love!" Proud Gryffindor; don't hate.
