I’m such a huge Harry Potter fan, one of the biggest, if not the biggest of all. I’m so obsessed that it’s sad, but I don’t care, it’s me! I have my own HP shrine in my room with all my HP stuff in it, and no one else can touch it! I’m easily the biggest fan in my school, I mean, I sit at lunch and yell out these Gryffindor cheers I made up. I just love Harry Potter! 🙂

MuggleNet (Emerson): How and when did you get into Harry Potter?

Alison: I’ve always been a reader. My sixth grade class took a poll: “What’s your favorite book?”. Harry Potter easily won, so I knew I had to read it. I bought it and had it for a while before I actually read it, but from the second I opened it up, I was hooked! I immediately bought the second and then nearly died anxiously waiting for the third.

Which Harry Potter book is your favorite?

My favorite Harry Potter book is the fourth book, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, for many reasons. It’s got so many plot twists that you don’t expect, it keeps you on the edge of your seat. I couldn’t put it down, my parents literally had to pry it out of my hands to get me to eat. It’s also the longest, and when it comes to Harry Potter, longer is better.

What character can you relate to most?

I can definitely relate to Hermione. I’m smart (although I don’t do as well as I could with my grades) and her character thinks like I do. I also look like and act how she’s described in the books: frizzy brown hair, big teeth and bossy. I can get quite annoying, and my nose is always in a book. I wanted to play her role in the movie, but I’m too old, and Emma Watson did a great job!

What do you think of the inevitable boy/girl stuff coming in book 5?

I think it’s cool, I’ve had a good number of crushes myself so I can guess what’s going on. 🙂

Who do you think Harry will “hook up with” in book 5? And what about Ron?

I’m not really sure who Harry will hook up with in book 5, but I really don’t think it will be Cho Chang. I’m pretty sure she’s still in love with Cedric Diggory. I definitely think Ron and Hermione will hook up.

What character do you think will die in book 5?

I don’t want anyone to die, but if I had to pick someone I think it will be Hagrid.

Which school house would you want to be in? Do you think the Sorting Hat would place you in that house?

I would definitely want to be in Gryffindor – it’s the best house! I do think the Sorting Hat would put me there, because I’ve taken loads of sorting type quizzes, and they all put me there!

Do you have any interesting HP stories to share?

I waited for two and a half hours in line just to get good seats on the day the movie came out, and then I saw it again twice. I wanted to see it more, but my parents wouldn’t let me, so I have to live with playing it in my head. That’s okay because I know every line!
