Well, I always have and always will love Harry Potter. I think that J.K. Rowling is a genius. Her books are so profound and inspiring. When I first found out they were making the Harry Potter movie series, I vowed that I wouldn’t see it. But the year came that it was released, and I couldn’t resist myself. I saw it at midnight the day it opened. I fell in love with the characters and the way they so perfectly depicted the people they were playing. Since then, that innocent November day in 2001, I have become a huge fanatic. I started collecting everything Harry Potter. You name it, I own it. Posters, the books, jewelry, clothes, socks, jackets, stationary, poster books, figurines, day-to-day calendar, monthly calendars, scrapbooks (yes, I made a scrapbook), clocks, stamps, stickers, and tons more. I printed tons of pictures offline, and I painted (and still paint) pictures and posters of my own. I made a ceramic Sorting Hat and painted it. My room is decked out in Harry Potter merchandise and everybody at school knows me as the Harry Potter chick. What can I say? I love it!

How and when did you get in to Harry Potter?

When I was in 5th Grade, my teacher told me he absolutely hated the books. So I therefore decided to read them :). I started reading the first book and hated it. Could not read it. It bored me to death. About six months later, summer came and I needed a good book. I decided to give it another chance, and there my obsession started. I read the first three books, and waited anxiously for the day I could afford the fourth book. I eventually got it, and read it too. Now, four years later, I have read each book over 11 times and plan to read them more!

Which Harry Potter book is your favorite?

I really like Chamber of Secrets and Goblet of Fire. I think Chamber of Secrets is my first favorite, but I’m not sure. I really like the mysterious plot in Chamber of Secrets, but the depth of the plot in Goblet of Fire is absolutely amazing. I can’t pick!

What character can you relate to most?

Hermione. I am exactly like her in every way. I wouldn’t call myself a genius, but I’m not stupid! 🙂 I can relate more to her personality than HER. I would call myself adventurous if I had as many opportunities as Harry, Ron, and Hermione to get into trouble. I love to read and WAS (not much anymore) a goody-two-shoes.

What do you think of the inevitable boy/girl stuff coming in Book 5?

To tell the truth, I have no clue. J.K. Rowling sort of left us hanging in the fourth book. Maybe Krum and Hermione? Who knows?!

Who do you think Harry will “hook up” with in Book 5? What about Ron?

I think that maybe Harry will be attracted to a new character, or maybe to Ginny Weasley. As far as Ron, I definitely think it’s going to be Hermione. They always seemed the type, but then what if Hermione visits Krum over the summer? There are endless possibilities!

What character do you think will die in Book 5?

I think Dumbledore or somebody in the Weasley family. It would have to be a drastic event for Harry, to twist around the plot. Dumbledore would make sense because he is very old and not to mention important. My guess is somebody you would least expect.

Which school house would you want to be in? Do you think the Sorting Hat would place you in that house?

I would want to be in Gryffindor or Slytherin. Both are awesome houses. Slytherin is darker and moremysterious, while Gryffindor is loyal and courageous. The sorting hat would probably most likely stick me in Gryffindor, though.

Do you have any interesting HP stories to share?

When I was in line with my friend to see HP for the eigth time, an old granny was ahead of us decked out in wizard clothing and accessories. It was hilariously funny until we found out that she had taken the last ticket! She walked away laughing at us and doing a little jig! It was SO funny to see a midget grandma hop around like that!

Do you have anything else you’d like to add? Maybe a theory you’ve concocted, a shout-out?

I think that Dumbledore is Harry’s grandfather. I read through all of the books again keeping this theory in mind, and it would make perfect sense. Then I read the excerpt from HP 5, and it fit with the excerpt as well. I would like to give a shout out to all my friends at Spring View Middle School: Hey guys, thanks for putting up with all my Harry Potter junk every hour of the day! You guys are the coolest friends a chick could ask for!!
