OOTP earns $12m from midnight screenings

Midnight screenings for the Order of the Phoenix film took place across the US today, raking in a total of $12 million. The screenings took place in 2,311 theaters. The film opened this morning in 4,285 theaters, the second-widest ever trailing only Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (4,362).

We can expect huge box office takings for the film in the next five days.
