Parade.com interviews Matthew Lewis: “I’m ready to say goodbye to Neville”

As part of their 30 Days of Harry Potter, Parade.com sat down with Matthew Lewis, the actor who plays Neville Longbottom.

In it, he talks about being a fan of Neville from the beginning, going from zero to hero, and why he’s ready to see Potter come to an end.

“I’ve been so pleased to be a part of it for such a long time. I feel very privileged. Every year that I got to come back I felt like I was stealing a bit of time. I enjoyed it so much. When it came to an end, I wasn’t really sad at all. I was just proud of everybody and really excited to see what we made.”

He also discusses his original audition, seeing the set destroyed in Deathly Hallows – Part 2, and how Helena Bonham Carter ruptured his eardrum.
