MuggleNet Throwback: “Half-Blood Prince” filming begins, Slughorn cast

MuggleNet is going to pull out our Time-Turner every Wednesday beginning today and take a look back into the past – our MuggleNet Throwback Feature has arrived!

This week in 2007, filming began for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. This news was revealed to us from Dan Radcliffe as he did a television interview with MTV.

Secondly, we announced that Jim Broadbent had confirmed that he had been cast to play the role of Professor Horace Slughorn. The teacher that was drawn back from retirement because he had secrets that needed Harry’s persuassion to extract, giving Harry and Dumbledore the key in how to defeat the Dark Lord once and for all.
