Fandom videos spotlight: Sob-toberfest

Because crying is good for you, this week, MuggleNet features two fan-made videos that (warning:) may make you cry.

The first is a presentation of what is maybe the best editing ever in a fan video, as well as one of the greatest song choices. In “Where I Feel at Home” clips and phrases from the Harry Potter films as well as documentary film on Potter author J.K. Rowling is compiled and played out to the song “To Build a Home” by The Cinematic Orchestra. The fun moments are remembered, and friendship is honored.

Then, if you make it through that video while retaining a dry eye, we feature this week’s Wizard Rock fan video, which is set to “End of an Era,” by Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls. In this video you may recognize several staff members from MuggleNet participating in various panel discussions at different Potter events, as well as clips from the films and what appears to also be home video taken at bookstores. The song is considered by many fans to echo their anxiety of the unknown point beyond when Harry Potter books and movies are finished, and serves as an emotional catharsis to all fans.

Thanks to Calleigh for the excellent video suggestion. If you have a fan video you would like to see featured, please let us know. Next Monday’s video theme: Halloween, of course!
