Are Harry Potter fans the helpless victims they claim to be?

In hpboy13’s latest controversial editorial on our fandom, he addresses fan frustration with WB, Sony, and even J.K. Rowling herself! “Are We Victims?” discusses such issues as the disappointment of Pottermore, the high prices of Warner Bros. and Sony’s latest Potter-related products, and J.K. Rowling’s long-awaited encyclopedia, explaining why fans are not as slighted as they might think. He writes:

I think that, as a fandom, we should stop feeling so victimized by all the people in charge of the Harry Potter brand, and just enjoy the wonderful things we do have.

Are J.K. Rowling and Warner Bros. abusing our many years of faithful love and devotion to Harry Potter? Or, is the magic of this fandom more powerful than a few mishaps, allowing us to rise above such petty things?
