Gary Oldman joins cast of “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”

It was recently confirmed that the Gary Oldman who portrays Sirius Black in the Potter films has signed on for the film Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the sequel to Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Oldman will play the role of a former police commissioner who becomes the leader of the human resistance.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will supposedly take place 15 years after everything that took place in the first film. So far Oldman is only one of five actors who are confirmed for the film, the others including Jason Clarke, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Andy Serkis, and Terry Notary. The film’s director is Matt Reeves.
