Dating Between Houses

Dear Professor Lupin,

I am a Slytherin, and proud, as are the rest of my family and friends. However, every boy I like happens to be a Gryffindor. I know my family and friends will hate me if I go out with a Gryffindor. What do I do?

Dear Confused,

I understand your hesitation about dating across Houses, however you must do what is best for yourself and your own happiness, and put that before the happiness of others in this case. If the Gryffindor boy you choose to date would like to date you back, then those that truly love you or care about you will see your happiness and be happy for you.

Prejudice is never an easy obstacle to overcome, but in not overcoming it, we blind ourselves to both happiness and true peace.
