Rupert says he was honored to be in the film because he was a huge Postman Pat fan as a kid. He explains how voice acting in an animated film is different but fun.

When you’re reacting with someone who’s not there, it’s hard to do that. You’re just hearing a voice.  It’s a bit weird, but it’s good fun, and it’s quite easy.

As previously reported, Rupert sings in the film. Part of his song “Struck by Lightning” can be heard in the audio clip at 6:45.  We think he sounds very smooth!

Rupert goes on to talk about his famed ice cream truc, and how he brought it to set on the last day of shooting Harry Potter. He also suggests that he may eventually join Twitter, saying “I think probably one day I’ll do it.”

Postman Pat: The Movie also stars Harry Potter alumni Jim Broadbent and David Tennant. The film opens in UK theaters on May 23. What do you think of Rupert’s singing? Are you looking forward to seeing the film?

Catherine Lai

I have been a fan of Harry since 2000, a fan of MuggleNet since 2005, and a MuggleNet team member since 2013. I believe in the power of stories to bring people together, and nothing does that quite like Harry Potter. I live in Toronto, Canada.
