Universal Studios Orlando launches new park app!

With the opening of Diagon Alley imminent, Universal Orlando has just announced the launch of a new app, which will allow users to view wait lines, explore the park on an interactive map, and more!

The Official Universal Orlando Resort app is now available for both Android and iPhone and besides wait times and an interactive map, will also feature customizable lists, show times, and the ability to search for nearby dining areas. What’s even more exciting is that in order to accommodate visitors using the app, Universal is adding free Wi-Fi access throughout both their parks!

Universal has also said that the app will continue to evolve with time, eventually incorporating social sharing capabilities, itineraries, and e-commerce. It’s a smart move of the park to release the app just weeks ahead of when their gates will be flooded with visitors flocking to Diagon Alley. We know one thing for sure – free Wi-Fi will make posting news from the Diagon Alley opening much easier!

Have you ever visited a park that uses this kind of app? Do you think it will be helpful? Let us know in the comments!

I've been making magic at MuggleNet since 2012, when I first joined the staff as a News intern. I've never wavered from the declaration in my childhood journal, circa October 2000: "I LOVE Harry Potter! If I clean my room, my mom says she'll make me a dinner a wizard would love!" Proud Gryffindor; don't hate.
