Emma Thompson to make an appearance at Barnes & Noble in New York!

by Toni Louise Cooper · September 28, 2014

To promote her newest book, The Spectacular Tale of Peter Rabbit, writer and actress Emma Thompson (Sybill Trelawney), will be making a very special appearance at Barnes & Noble in New York City… THIS THURSDAY (October 2)! Thompson is due to make her appearance at the Warren Street store at 6:00 p.m EDT that day and will be giving a reading from said children’s book.

The Spectacular Tale of Peter Rabbit is based off of the series of books written by children’s author Beatrix Potter, in which Peter Rabbit was one of the most well known of all her characters. The overview of the book given on the Barnes & Noble website is as follows:

Emma Thompson sends Peter Rabbit to the fair!

A fair has come to the Lake District! And Peter and Benjamin are forbidden to go. Driven by their ever-insatiable curiosity, the rabbits sneak into the fair to have a look-around. Mesmerized by all the activity, the rabbits stand incredibly still, watching. Suddenly, a little girl picks up Peter, declaring him to be her stuffed animal prize! Covered in kisses and stuffed in her bag, Peter Rabbit is taken on his first-ever roller coaster. Benjamin is barely able to rescue Peter, and the two bound home, smelling of the fair.

Here is a look at the front cover of the book:
