Bonnie Wright talks being the experienced actor in “Who Killed Nelson Nutmeg?”

We recently learned that Bonnie Wright will be seen in the children’s adventure Who Killed Nelson Nutmeg?, a film about a group of misfit kids who set out to discover who killed their holiday park’s mascot.

Filming is just wrapping up at Freshwater Holiday Park near Bridport, Dorset. Speaking to the Bridport News, Bonnie says she was impressed with the Nelson Nutmeg script.

It’s refreshing to read something entirely for children, and I really liked the vision directors Tim and Danny had. It’s brilliant having a set like this is in a great location right on the edge of the Dorset coastline with beautiful cliffs and scenery – the film is bound to look much more interesting and off the wall.

Bonnie plays Diane, the mysterious new manager of the camp, and the kids believe she may be the culprit.

As an actor it’s been exciting to play a character like Diane who has an evil edge to her and has been different for me. It’s great for any director to show an actress in a new way, and that is something Tim and Danny have achieved with my role in Nelson Nutmeg.

She also compared her experience as a child on the Harry Potter set to that of the young Nelson Nutmeg cast. She says she felt a “role reversal” being the older cast member.

We didn’t know how big or crazy the platform for Harry Potter would become. It was a safe environment with lots of people similar to the Nelson Nutmeg set. Because we were all children, we learnt together, and the same thing is happening with the young cast of Nelson Nutmeg. The kids have been so great and worked so hard. It’s been great to work with them.

The film also stars Hattie Gotobed, the sister of Rohan Gotobed, who played young Sirius Black in Deathly Hallows – Part 2. It is directed by Tim Clague and Danny Stack and will be released in June 2015.

See the film’s website for more information. Does Who Killed Nelson Nutmeg? sound like a fun movie to check out with kids you know? (Or by yourself?)
