Five Reasons We’re Excited for A Celebration of Harry Potter

This year’s Celebration of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Florida is less than a week away, and for those attending (like myself, eeep!!), we can barely contain our excitement. Here are five reasons to be as excited as us (even if you cannot attend yourself).

1. The People

My friend Amy goes into detail about all the different people one may encounter this upcoming weekend, from the actors (Rupert Grint, Katie Leung, Bonnie Wright, Evanna Lynch, and Matthew Lewis), to MuggleNet staffers, to general Muggles walking about experiencing the magic for the first time. It will be a great way to experience the Potter aura together.

2. The Events

The schedule was released this past week, and it is packed with fun events for all ages, including a movie night, wand masterclass, and expo. In addition, MuggleNet is teaming up with the Universal Orlando Annual Passholders to host a small remembrance in honor of the late Alan Rickman. Anyone can watch from their home using the information provided here.

3. The Park

Celebration or not, any chance to travel to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is reason enough to walk around with a huge grin on your face. The rides, the food, and the magic! I know for some staffers this will be their first time attending the park, and I personally cannot wait to experience their first jaw-drop when we walk into Hogsmeade together.

4. Florida Weather

I’m from the Northeast, which means I have recently encountered a winter blizzard. Naturally, even a 60-degree, partly sunny day sounds like everything I could have ever dreamed for, and it will be nice to break out some shorts and Potter tanktops. Pool party in the Black Lake, anyone? Oh, if only the park had one!
