Emma Watson Speaks on Her Role in “Colonia”

Emma Watson sat down with the Independent while promoting her latest film, Colonia.

First announced in 2014 and based on real-life events, Colonia tells the story of Lena and Daniel, a young couple who get caught up in the 1973 Chilean military coup. After Daniel goes missing, Lena sets out in search of him, only to find herself embroiled in the cult-like Colonia Dignidad, which purports to be a Christian mission but actually has far more sinister practices.

In addition to discussing her role in the film, Watson speaks a bit about being a former child star and her upcoming role as Belle in Beauty and the Beast. Watch it for yourself!

I've been making magic at MuggleNet since 2012, when I first joined the staff as a News intern. I've never wavered from the declaration in my childhood journal, circa October 2000: "I LOVE Harry Potter! If I clean my room, my mom says she'll make me a dinner a wizard would love!" Proud Gryffindor; don't hate.
