by Sophie Reid · August 5, 2016

Exciting news, there are now more Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them books to look forward to this November! Bloomsbury UK has announced that it will be publishing a range of Fantastic Beasts tie-in books, after being awarded a sublicense by Insight Editions and Warner Bros.

So far, two titles have been announced: J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World: A Pop-up Gallery of Curiosities, and Newt Scamander: A Movie Scrapbook.

Rebecca McNally, the Director of Children’s Publishing at Bloomsbury, said,

These innovative formats are a wonderful book showcase for the wit and inventiveness of the films. We are very excited to have this opportunity to partner with Insight and Warner Bros. Consumer Products to publish brilliant film tie-in books for Harry Potter fans of all ages.

A Pop-up Gallery of Curiosities and Newt Scamander: A Movie Scrapbook will both be released on November 18, 2016. You can read more in the press release below.

Bloomsbury will also be releasing an updated version of the school textbook, Fantastic Beasts, in 2017, with a new front cover by Jonny Duddle, alongside Scholastic in the US.

Meanwhile, Candlewick Press in the US has revealed more details about its upcoming Fantastic Beasts tie-in books. It was announced recently that Candlewick Press would be teaming up with Walker Books in the UK to release a series of interactive books this coming fall. One of these will be called J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World: Magical Film Projections: Creatures and will be aimed at 7-10-year-olds.

Using illustrated cut[-]out screens, this enchanting book allows fans to project their favorite scenes from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them films at home with a flashlight.

The second book to be released will J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World: Movie Magic Volume One: Extraordinary People and Fascinating Places, which will explore all eight Harry Potter films as well as Fantastic Beasts.

From the gilded halls of Gringotts and Hogwarts to the New York City of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, each page of this book delivers a fun, interactive experience for young readers as they discover how the extraordinary places and fascinating characters of the wizarding world took shape onscreen. Filled with lift-the-flaps, stickers, and other engaging inserts, this engrossing book overflows with captivating facts about the movie magic used to create a world fit for witches and wizards.

Finally, Candlewick Press will also release J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World: A Pop-up Gallery of Curiosities, which will be released by Bloomsbury in the UK.

This small, deluxe pop-up book showcases three-dimensional renderings of some of the beloved curiosities from the Harry Potter films, including two pops related to the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Pull[-]out flaps will feature text that delves into the items on each spread and how they were achieved in the films.
