Zoë Kravitz Joins “Fantastic Beasts” Sequel

It seems strange to be posting news about the second film in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them trilogy when the first one hasn’t even come out yet, but if we want these movies to come out on time, we’d better get used to that! Last week, Warner Bros. confirmed that the next installment in the highly anticipated trilogy will be released in November of 2018 – and now we seem to have the first bit of casting news.

This afternoon, the Hollywood Reporter revealed that Zoë Kravitz (Mad Max: Fury Road, Dope, Divergent) is slated to play a significant role in the as-yet-unnamed sequel.

From the article:

Sources say Kravitz, who was added after production began, has a small role in the first Fantastic Beasts film (which is now in post[-]production), but there’s the possibility for her to return with a meatier part in the sequel. Ahead of the first film’s release on Nov. 18, Warner Bros. has already dated the sequel for Nov. 16, 2018.

While this is certainly thrilling, it’s important to note a key word here – “possibility.” While the Hollywood Reporter is a credible source, it is unconfirmed what her role in the series might be. As of this writing, Kravitz is not listed on the IMDb page for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, so we know absolutely nothing about the role she’ll play – rather exciting, isn’t it?

We’ll be keeping an ear out for more news, so watch this space for updates!
