Here’s How to Eat with Dietary Restrictions at Universal Orlando

How in the world do vegans, people with food allergies, and people with religious dietary restrictions find something delicious to eat on vacation? For those of us who don’t have typical diets, dining out of town can be pretty tricky. In a world where decent alternatives are as difficult to find as a Knarl in a group of hedgehogs (without any milk), it’s already a Triwizard-level task to eat what you want in everyday life.

The last thing you want while you’re on vacation is to be stuck eating a wilted salad and a bag of potato chips at the hotel. For anyone looking to go on a vacation where their dietary restrictions will be respected, consider heading out to Universal Orlando this fall for MuggleNet Live! 2017. Food is included in the ticket price, and our diverse staff collaborated on a menu that will meet the needs of a wide variety of people. You’ll find meat-free, dairy-free, nut-free, and gluten-free options abounding! Check out the menu here.

The options at MuggleNet Live! 2017 are on top of the already alternative-food-friendly environment at Universal Orlando. Considering how much roast chicken and beef Harry had throughout the Potter series, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort totally surprised me with its vegetarian options. My first trip was this January, and I was able to go the whole weekend without eating one wilted salad.

At the Leaky Cauldron, I had a plate of roasted vegetables and a piping mug of Butterbeer. The Three Broomsticks was my favorite meal – roasted potatoes and a delicious leek and potato soup. Employees at both restaurants were happy to help explain the gluten-free menu without the usual eye roll. Restaurants near the park all had vegetarian options and a gluten-free menu. The cafeteria at Cabana Bay had plenty of meatless options and even a tofu stir fry.

Overall, Universal Orlando has a lot to offer those with dietary restrictions, and MuggleNet Live! 2017 will add to those tenfold. If you haven’t got your tickets yet, buy them here! There are less than 40 left, and we want to see you there.
