Harry’s Top Five Magical Christmas Presents

Merry Christmas and happy holidays! In the spirit of the season of gifts, I want to look at the best Christmas gifts Harry ever received.

The Invisibility Cloak

Harry inherited this from his father without realizing what it really was. One of the Deathly Hallows, the Cloak helped Harry, Ron, and Hermione during their many adventures and battles against Voldemort.

The Firebolt

After the tragic demise of his Nimbus 2000, Sirius gifted this broom to Harry. It was then used to help Gryffindor win several Quidditch matches and aid Harry in getting past the dragon in the first Triwizard Tournament task.

Knife

Not shown in the films, this knife came with attachments that could open any locked door. In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry used his knife to open Umbridge’s door.

Christmas Sweater

While not as magical or cool as the other gifts on this list, this is fantastic for what it represents. Mrs. Weasley’s gift shows how much she cares for him. Who doesn’t love a hand-knitted sweater from a mother figure?

The Marauder’s Map

An early Christmas present from the twins, this magical map helped Harry during his time at Hogwarts. Without it, he never would have gone to Hogsmeade in his third year or snuck into the prefects’ bathroom in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It was also invaluable in monitoring the location of the Inquisitorial Squad in the fifth book and as a way of watching Malfoy’s movements in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
