“A Harry Potter Pensieve Experience” at NYCC

by Jessica Barber · September 21, 2018

This year, visitors to New York Comic Con will enjoy a unique experience inspired by the Pensieve. Much like the magical object that Dumbledore and Harry use to relive memories of the past, fans will be able to relive the books in immersive, multisensory experience that brings scenes to life in a whole new way.

Audible has teamed up with Pottermore Publishing to bring “A Harry Potter Pensieve Experience” to NYCC in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the publication of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in the United States. The Pensieve Experience uses the Harry Potter audiobooks to create pathways of memorable moments through the series. Fans select a character from the series and are then plunged into an immersive audio journey that mirrors that character’s storyline in the books.

If you’re at NYCC, you’ll be able to take part in “A Harry Potter Pensieve Experience” Thursday, October 4, through Saturday, October 6, 10 a.m.–7 p.m., and Sunday, October 7, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. at the Javits Center, North Concourse, Booth NC5. A press preview event will be held on October 3, the day before it opens to the public.

We can’t wait to find out what this exciting new experience will be like. With words like “immersive,” “interactive,” and “multisensory” being used to describe it, “A Harry Potter Pensieve Experience” promises to be unlike anything we’ve seen before!

No word yet as to whether the Pensive Experience will make its way to other locations or events, but the audiobooks are always available to listen to on Audible! Their Wizarding World audio collection includes not only all seven Harry Potter books read by Jim Dale but also Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them read by Eddie Redmayne, Quidditch Through the Ages read by Andrew Lincoln, and Harry Potter: A History of Magic read by Natalie Dormer.
