Daniel Radcliffe Narrates Charity’s Holiday Fundraising Video

by Lainey Ruffner · November 27, 2018

Daniel Radcliffe is helping raise awareness for a charity that means a lot to him this Christmas by narrating a short film for Demelza Hospice Care for Children. The emotional and touching short film prompts viewers to question what it means to live a full life.

Demelza Hospice Care provides support and services for families with children suffering from terminal illnesses. The charity focuses on helping children live the fullest life possible no matter how short it may be. Demelza also works closely with the families to help them cope and adjust.

Radcliffe, Demelza’s Vice President, has been a supporter of the charity and a donor for many years. He couldn’t pass up another chance to help out this holiday season.

Demelza is a charity very close to my heart, having been a supporter for many years now, and I jumped at the opportunity to voice this inspirational video. A short life should be the fullest of them all so please watch, share and donate to Demelza to help children with terminal conditions and their loved ones make the most of the precious time they have together.

The two-minute film targets social media users, especially those who post hashtags such as #FullLife, #OOTD, #MeTime, and #Love. It demonstrates how even children with terminal conditions can live a life full of fun, joy, love, and adventure.

Hospice centers in Kent and South East London and a homecare service in Sussex offer 24-hour care, play, and therapy. Each child’s day is specifically designed around their individual needs. The charity only receives 20% of its funding from the government, so it strongly relies on donations from the general public in order to continue its operations. Donations to Demelza help provide specialized treatments, one-on-one nursing care, music and play therapy for children and siblings, rest and recuperation for parents, and bereavement support for families.

Tamsyn Clark, director of marketing and fundraising at Demelza, discussed the #FullLife campaign and her gratitude for everyone involved.

We’re very grateful to our vice president Daniel Radcliffe, the fantastic team at Southpaw and everyone else who has contributed to this magical appeal. Most importantly, we extend our gratitude to the stars of the #FullLife campaign – the children and families who appear in it. They are at the heart of everything we do here at Demelza and we’re beyond grateful to everyone who donates to ensure we can be there for every family who needs us.

You can watch the Demelza #FullLife promotional video below, and if you’d like to join Daniel Radcliffe in supporting this cause, you can make a donation here.
