by Aimee Krenz · November 12, 2018

After surviving last week’s double elimination on Dancing with the Stars, Evanna Lynch and Keo Motsepe are poised to make it to the finals, that is, IF they survive tonight’s semifinals and yet another double elimination!

Let’s look back at last week before we see how tonight’s semifinals went.

Combined with their scores from Week 6 and their first perfect score after their romantic rumba in Week 7, Evanna and Keo truly have a shot this week, more than any other week before, at taking home the Mirrorball trophy.

This week, each couple performed two dances. The first dance had to be a dance they had not learned before and was dedicated to a meaningful person in their life, while the second dance was a Judge’s Choice dance, which means a style of dance they had done before but set to new music and coached by one of the judges. Evanna’s first dance was a contemporary routine to “Stand Up for Something” by Andra Day. Her second dance was the foxtrot to “Rewrite the Stars” from The Greatest Showman, which Evanna and Keo had previously prepared for their first week but never got to dance. Keo promised we would see it and now we are! Coach Len Goodman also helped Evanna train this week to make sure her foxtrot was perfect. Take a look at pictures from rehearsals!

Here I am being a third wheel to Keo and Len’s beautiful partnership. Honestly, @keo_motsepe looks at Len the way I look at cats. 😁 Also, I can’t wait to redo our foxtrot on Monday and redeem ourselves from that 5 after Len’s coaching! We have two dances, contemporary and foxtrot and I love them both so much 😍 #TeamKevanna #mancrush #thirdwheel #dancingwiththestars

“Fill up the room. Practice. The more you sweat, the better you get!” #TeamKevanna got top notch words of wisdom from Len this week. #JudgesChoice #DWTS

Let’s do this, partner! @keo_motsepe It’s the semi finals tonight on @dancingabc, will you be watching?! #TeamKevanna #dancingwiththestars

Now to get a look at tonight’s performances. I’m so confident in Evanna and Keo right now, I am just praying the judging panel sees what we have seen all throughout this process, that they absolutely deserve to make it to the finals. Evanna dedicated her dance to her friend and filmmaker the late Simon Fitzmaurice. Evanna starred in his film, My Name is Emily.

This is the second time the couple has received a perfect score this season, and she and Keo earned every point of the judges’ scores with this contemporary dance. She truly has shown how much of a dancer she really is!

Now let’s watch her second performance, the foxtrot we didn’t get to see from the first week, set to “Rewrite the Stars” from The Greatest Showman. This one I have been dying to see!

The duo scored 28 out of 30 points, bringing their total for the night to 58 out of 60 points. This meant the determining factor of whether Team Kevanna stayed in the competition was almost entirely up to viewer votes from last week. In the end, Evanna and Keo MADE IT TO THE FINALS!

Winning tonight DOES NOT GUARANTEE TAKING HOME THE MIRRORBALL NEXT WEEK! The combination of viewer online and telephone votes added to the judges’ scores determines who wins the Mirrorball next week! Voting is open until 4 a.m. Eastern, and you can vote online AND by calling in to Evanna and Keo’s dedicated number at 800-868-3405. There should be four votes available to you per method, so use them wisely and please vote for Team Kevanna tonight!
