Exclusive Reveal: “HOG’S HEAD INN™” with “HOGWARTS™” Sleigh from The Bradford Exchange!

by Kimira VP · August 19, 2019

As the Illuminated Village collection from the Bradford Exchange continues to expand to include more of our favorite wizarding locations and characters, we here at MuggleNet are so excited to be able to give you a special inside look at what is to come! This month we have an exclusive reveal of the “HOG’S HEAD INN™” with “HOGWARTS™” Sleigh set! Make sure to check out the five previous sets of the Illuminated Village collection, and don’t forget to subscribe if you’d like to get your hands on these sets yourself!

As an avid Harry Potter collector, I’ve been eyeing the Illuminated Village collection from the Bradford Exchange for many months. Every time I saw a picture of one of the editions on social media, I immediately imagined what it would look like on my shelves next to my prized books and figurines.

I am happy to report that I wasn’t wrong – it looks spectacular! This newest set, the “HOG’S HEAD INN™” with “HOGWARTS™” Sleigh, is beautifully detailed and very well crafted. As I write my review in the insufferable heat of the Midwestern summer (highs of 115 F this week!), I am reminded of Christmastime, walks in the snow, and European Christmas market trips with my family.

The best part about the entire Illuminated Village collection is that it can stay up all year long. It definitely does remind me of winter and Christmastime, with the white sparkling rooftops and the trees heavy under the snow. But it doesn’t scream Christmas – you get just the right amount of the holiday spirit.

The pieces come very well wrapped and protected with styrofoam to prevent any kind of damage while being shipped to you. You will receive the “HOG’S HEAD INN™”, the “HOGWARTS™” Sleigh, and a numbered certificate of authenticity. Two of the tallest chimneys come wrapped separately and are easily placed on top of the “HOG’S HEAD INN™”. You will need three AAA batteries to light up the windows with a pleasant yellowish glow. There is a plastic battery compartment on the bottom of the building and a small switch on its back. Personally, I would prefer the compartment not be shut with a screw so that it’s easier to access when changing the batteries. You do need a small screwdriver to open it, and there is always a chance the screw will get lost over time. But that’s just a small detail and my personal preference.

The inn itself is almost 6″ long and little short of 7″ tall, measured with both chimneys put up. The sleigh is 5″ long.

One of my favorite aspects of the “HOG’S HEAD INN™” with “HOGWARTS™” Sleigh set is most definitely the fact that it lights up. Not only do all the windows turn bright yellow once you flip the switch, but there are also cute Christmas baubles on the tree at the side of the house – those light up as well.

The batteries will last you quite a while. I’ve had it on for several hours three nights in a row now, and it’s still shining brightly, the same way it did the day I received it.

Hogsmeade is one of the locations in the Harry Potter world that doesn’t get nearly enough love, especially when it comes to merchandise. That is one of many reasons why the Illuminated Village collection is so unique. All of the items are hand-crafted and hand-painted, and every detail is perfect. Even the “HOG’S HEAD INN™” sign is absolutely flawless.

If you decide to purchase this set, I guarantee you, you will not be disappointed. It will be admired by your friends and family for years to come! I’ve gathered a room full of Harry Potter merchandise over many years of collecting, and I can safely say this set is one of the most original and most beautiful items I own. Now I just need the rest of the collection to complete the magic!

Be sure to check back next month for another exclusive set reveal from the Bradford Exchange, and don’t forget to subscribe to the collection to stay a part of the magic for every set to come!
