Hints That More Official “Harry Potter” Stores Are Coming

While the highly anticipated Harry Potter store located in New York’s Flatiron District is still awaiting an official opening date, there are hints that more Harry Potter stores will be coming in the future.

The New York store is set to be the world’s largest Harry Potter merchandise store so far, spanning three floors and covering over 20,000 square feet. It will sell the largest collection of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts products, ranging from pocket fillers to rare collectibles, exclusive lines, magical photo opportunities, and much more.

Due to renovations at the location, it is widely believed that butterbeer, butterbeer ice cream, and hot butterbeer, which is currently only available in the winter at Universal Orlando Resort and year-round at Universal Studios Hollywood, will be on sale.

The store sounds magical, and it is sure to excite any Potterhead, but we’ll have to wait a little bit longer before we can take a visit – while it was supposed to open in summer 2020, it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite this, WarnerMedia has begun its search for employees in anticipation of its opening later this year. The vacancies include Back of House Associates, Sales Associates, Sales Lead, Visual Merchandise Associate, Visual Merchandise Lead, and Store Operations Coordinator.

Within these job descriptions, some eagle-eyed fans have noticed hints that there appear to be plans to open other stores in addition to the New York store in the future.

Warner Bros. is continuing to expand and evolve the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts with the opening of [f]lagship Wizarding World stores, in key cities globally. These stores will bring to life the magic of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts for all [f]ans and [s]uper [f]ans of the franchise. Flagship [r]etail will deliver incredible product, service and environments in spaces that truly celebrate the Wizarding World.

While no city has been confirmed for these potential future stores, it suggests that Warner Bros. is hoping to continue expanding the Harry Potter universe within the Muggle world.

Are you excited to see New York’s Harry Potter store finally open this year, and where do you think will be good locations for Warner Bros. to house its future Harry Potter stores?
