Castium Revelio: Trailers, Teasers, and a Couple More Trailers!

Welcome back to another edition of MuggleNet’s Casting News! Last week, we battled demogorgons, met British royals, and faced impossible-to-solve mysteries. This week, we’ve got even more exciting news, with Kenneth Branagh on the brink of joining record books and a first teaser for the upcoming Game of Thrones spin-off. Let’s delve right in. Castium Revelio!

First up this week is a trailer for Jason Isaacs‘s (Lucius Malfoy) latest movie, Mass. The film follows two couples as they each work their way through their respective sides of an unspeakable tragedy. On one side we see the parents of a victim of a school shooting, while the other couple comes to terms with the fact that their child was the perpetrator. The film had its debut at the Sundance Film Festival back in January and was released on October 8. Have a look at the trailer below and check out the whole film in theaters.

Sticking with the Malfoys, Tom Felton‘s (Draco Malfoy) war film will be released on Netflix next week. The Forgotten Battle, which was released to theaters last year, surrounds three protagonists during the Battle of the Scheldt. The lives of a glider pilot, a resistance recruit, and a Nazi soldier all intersect, putting all of them in danger. Here’s the trailer that was released alongside the announcement from Netflix. Are you hoping to rewatch the film, or will you be checking it out for the first time?

Next up, we have a hopeful entry into the record books. Sir Kenneth Branagh (Gilderoy Lockhart) could potentially break the record for being nominated in the most categories at the Oscars. He has previously been nominated in a total of five categories: Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Live Action Short Film. His semi-autobiographical film Belfast is tipped to see nominations at next year’s Academy Awards, and if he is nominated in an additional two categories that he is eligible for, Best Original Screenplay and Best Picture, he’ll take over from current record holder George Clooney (Ocean’s Eleven), who has been nominated in six different categories. Fingers crossed Branagh manages to at least match Clooney’s count.

We’ve got another trailer up next for you! This time, we’re popping up to the North Pole for a festive trip to see Santa Claus. A Boy Called Christmas will see Dame Maggie SmithJim Broadbent, and Toby Jones (Professor McGonagall, Professor Slughorn, and Dobby, respectively) tell a festive coming-of-age story about a young boy who is searching for his father. With his trusted pets beside him, he travels to the magical town of Elfheim on his quest. Take a look below!

Last but certainly not least is a teaser for the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel, House of the DragonRhys Ifans (Xenophilius Lovegood) is featured in the series, which is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones. The teaser shows us a powerful House Targaryen in the first official footage from the series, which is set to be released next year. See what you think of the clip below!
