“SpeakBeasty” Episode 147: “The Aberforth Mustache Conspiracy”

On this episode of SpeakBeasty, our hosts are joined by special guest Sam Williams from the Alohomora! podcast to discuss new footage and posters for the upcoming Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore film.

Join hosts Ann, Amy, Shannen, and Sam as they take a look at the 18 character posters released from the upcoming movie. What clues can we glean from details in the costumes, the backgrounds, and the colors used in each poster? We love that Newt’s poster contains subtle nods to Hufflepuff House through the use of gold light, while the light issuing from Grindelwald’s wand is green, signaling that he’s casting the Killing Curse.

The hosts also dig into the new Secrets of Dumbledore footage contained in several Japanese featurettes and television spots. This new footage includes our first glimpse of Tina Goldstein, albeit in photograph form, as well as Albus Dumbledore looking at Ariana’s portrait. Our hosts have many questions pertaining to a red tie that seems to belong to Theseus but that the Niffler can be seen pulling from the neck of an older man.

This week’s podcast question is “What is the significance of the red tie?” Send us your thoughts and theories at SpeakBeasty@gmail.com, or reach out to us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram!

I was 9 years old when I discovered the magic that is “Harry Potter.” I am a proud Hufflepuff and exceedingly good at eating, reading, being sarcastic, and over-thinking small tasks. Since I spent too much time worrying about the correct way to write this bio, this is all I was able to come up with before the deadline.
