Celebrate Pride with a Fandom Fundraiser and Hogwarts Hunt
UPDATE: The results are in! Gryffindor raised the most money, followed by Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw. Well done to all of the Houses for contributing.
The potions ingredients were as follows:
- Day 1: Pumpkin seed
- Day 2: Thistle
- Day 3: Moonlight
- Day 4: Lemon drop (or sherbet lemon)
- Day 5: Sapphire
- Day 6: Leaping toadstool
- Day 7: Peppermint
Each ingredient is associated with a color, so when you combine them, you get a rainbow as the centerpiece of your Pride Parade decor.
Happy Pride! June is LGBTQ+ Pride Month, and we’re celebrating with a combination fandom fundraiser and scavenger hunt. You’ll have the opportunity to donate to a good cause, solve an intriguing mystery, and win fabulous prizes. Partnered with a team leader from the fandom, each House will be raising money for a different LGBTQ+ charity:
- Gryffindor: Chanel Williams (TikTok McGonagall) for the Trevor Project
- Hufflepuff: MuggleCast for Transgender Law Center
- Ravenclaw: Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley) for akt
- Slytherin: Maja Bloom (Carrow in Fantastic Beasts) for GiveOut’s Ukraine LGBTQI Emergency Appeal
Whether or not you donate, you can participate in the Hogwarts Hunt. Here’s how it works: You’re on the Hogwarts Pride Committee and in charge of decorations for the big Pride Parade at the end of the month. You open the committee’s supply box to find a scroll of parchment with a mysterious message:
The graduating Pride Committee seventh years wanted to leave behind a parting gift. We’ve cooked up something fun for this year’s Pride Parade, but you’ll have to assemble it yourself. Each day this week, this parchment will give you a clue about how to find an ingredient around Hogwarts for a special potion. Gather the ingredients, then follow the brewing instructions, and you’ll have the crown jewel in your epic Pride celebration.

When you figure out an ingredient, enter it in the form below. Entries are accepted all week, through 11:59 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 2, so no worries if you fall behind. If you find all the ingredients and answer a final question correctly, you’ll be eligible to win a special prize package full of fun gifts:

To make things more interesting, each player can help represent their Hogwarts House! If your House raises the most money for your captain’s chosen charity by the end of the week, you’ll have a chance to win your House Pride flag from Sleeper Nerdz & Co. plus a special prize from your captain. As long as you enter at least one correct answer, you’re eligible. Even if you aren’t able to donate yourself, participate by sharing and boost your House’s fundraiser to increase your chances! Prizes can be shipped worldwide.
