Colin Farrell Makes “Time” 100 List of Most Influential People

There’s no question that Colin Farrell, who played Percival Graves in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, has been seeing a lot of success lately. His last project alone, The Banshees of Inisherin, has earned him 72 award nominations between 2022 and 2023, including his first Oscar nomination. Out of those nominations, he’s won a staggering 42 awards so far.

This level of success, and the amount of versatility and dedication behind it, is referenced by producer and award-winning actor Nicole Kidman in her written praise for his inclusion on this year’s Time 100 Most Influential People list.

Colin is an actor’s actor. He’s not frightened of tone or genre, and he’s very present. Ego is not attached to his performances. You really see that in the longevity of his nearly 30-year-long career.

Kidman starred alongside Farrell in two films in 2017, The Beguiled and The Killing of a Sacred Deer, and the actors became fast friends.

He was very emotionally open with me, and I’m very protective of him. I admire his tenacity, his resilience, and his great sense of humor. He’s got such an Irish kind of sensibility.

The Time 100 is a compilation of the 100 most influential people of the given year, as determined by the editors of Time magazine. Selection criteria seem to vary somewhat, and the last few years have seen the list divided into six descriptive groupings. Farrell, appropriately, appears within the Artist category along with other significant actors, authors, musicians, and visual artists.

Much like his fellow honorees, Farrell shows a continuous dedication to creating, as well as no signs of slowing down any time soon. He has several new projects in the works, including reprising his role as the titular character on The Penguin, a spin-off of The Batman. The HBO Max series is currently in production and will be dropping on the platform sometime in 2024.
