Role Call: Tom Riddle Learns About Strange Love

by Aimee Krenz · August 29, 2014

As indicated in last week’s Role Call, casting has begun for the Steve Kloves produced live-action film Jungle Book: Origins and some pretty big names are now attached! In addition to Benedict Cumberbatch, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Oscar winners Christian Bale and Cate Blanchett have signed on to the project. Bale is set to voice the panther Bagheera while Blanchett will voice the python Kaa.

Emma Thompson‘s film Effie Gray is finally set hit theaters this October and a still from the film has been released. The still features Emma with co-star Dakota Fanning in her role as the titular character, which you can view below:

While Daniel Radcliffe may not have anything to do with the upcoming Woman In Black sequel, it does features his Harry Potter co-star Helen McCrory. A new teaser trailer has been released for the film this week and while Helen doesn’t appear directly in the trailer, we are very anxious to see what her character Jean Hogg has to do with the old Marsh House! Take a look at the chilling trailer below:

Actor Christian Coulson (young Tom Riddle – Chamber of Secrets) has been publicizing his new indie film, Love is Strange. Last week, he sent out the following tweet:

The Twitter account for the film also sent a tweet of a poster for the film with all the premiere dates for various cities:

According to Variety, Chris Columbus has joined Exodus 47, a film based on a true story of a Baptist Minister who went on a mission to save victims of the Holocaust. Columbus will co-produce the film and had this to say about his involvement:

I am really excited about the chance to bring ‘Exodus 47′ to the screen. I find it astounding that this particular and very real version of the Exodus story has never been turned into a movie.”

Finally, it appears hosting duties are not anywhere close to ending for Mark Williams (Arthur Weasley). His game show The Link has been renewed and the head of STV Entertainment, Gary Chippington, praised Mark’s abilities:

We’re thrilled that the addictive gameplay of The Link, combined with Mark’s fantastic stewardship, proved such a hit with the daytime audience, and are thrilled to be making another series for BBC One.

No word yet on when the daytime series will begin airing again.
