Role Call: The Monster Mash!

This week, it appears to be all about the scare! We take you to all the darkest places as we see what horrors the Harry Potter cast have in store for us. Murder, monsters, poltergeists, premonitions, and even the First Order – this cast does it all!

Last month, London Fields premiered at Toronto International Film Festival and we now have our first look at the thriller. While we don’t see Jason Isaacs as his character Mark Asprey, you can hear him narrate the clip. Recently announced Fantastic Beasts cast member Gemma Chan also stars as Petronella. The film, based on a novel of the same name, follows a young clairvoyant who has a premonition about her death. Take a look at the clip below!

Jason will also serve on the jury for the 19th annual Jewish Film Festival alongside Goblet of Fire director Mike Newell this November. For complete programming, visit the website here.

A trailer has been released for Sir Kenneth Branagh‘s new theater company, which you can view here. The trailer shows clips of each production that will air live in theaters around the world, including Branagh in The Entertainer and his lead Cinderella film stars Richard Madden and Lily James in Romeo and Juliet.

The new season will include original productions as well as some Shakespearian classics, and one of those productions will also star Zoë Wanamaker. The Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company Live will begin its season at the Garrick Theatre this November.

Domhnall Gleeson never seems to stop and smell the roses! The actor has kept himself very busy over the last year, filming Star Wars in extreme secrecy, tackling a love triangle in his film Brooklyn, and he’s just signed on for a new film, The Little Stranger, which will be helmed by someone he’s previously worked with on the quirky comedy Frank, director Lenny Abrahamson.

Domhnall sat down with MTV at TIFF to discuss Brooklyn but instead started talking about his role in Star Wars. He appears to realize that what he thought was a really awesome General Hux action figure from the upcoming Force Awakens may just be a cruel joke from a twisted friend. As for The Little Stranger, get your Weasley sweaters or house blankets ready, because the film is a ghost story! Based on a novel by Sarah Waters, the film will begin shooting next summer and revolves around post-war Britain in the late forties. No word yet on the role Domhnall will play. Here’s the book synopsis, in case you want to know what you’re in for!

One postwar summer in his home of rural Warwickshire, Dr. Faraday, the son of a maid who has built a life of quiet respectability as a country physician, is called to a patient at lonely Hundreds Hall. Home to the Ayres family for over two centuries, the Georgian house, once impressive and handsome, is now in decline, its masonry crumbling, its gardens choked with weeds, the clock in its stable yard permanently fixed at twenty to nine. Its owners—mother, son, and daughter—are struggling to keep pace with a changing society, as well as with conflicts of their own. But are the Ayreses haunted by something more sinister than a dying way of life? Little does Dr. Faraday know how closely, and how terrifyingly, their story is about to become intimately entwined with his.

Speaking of Gleesons … Brendan Gleeson was just announced as landing a role in the film adaptation of the video game, Assassin’s Creed. Filming is due to begin next week, with Gleeson in the as-yet unnamed father to Michael Fassbender’s character. The film is slated for a December 21, 2016 release. Gleeson can next be seen in Suffragette alongside Helena Bonham Carter, which is out in the UK on October 12. Take a look at a new clip featuring Brendan from the film here!

Simon McBurney is getting in on the scare business that seems to be overtaking our cast! The actor was recently announced to have joined The Conjuring 2, which began production at the end of September. The film is a sequel to the horror hit based on the real life experiences of husband and wife paranormal team, Ed and Lorraine Warren. McBurney’s role is unclear at this time.

Finally, another scary film is making its debut this October, starring Timothy Spall. We previously reported on his involvement with The Enfield Haunting, a true story about paranormal events that took place at a home in the UK. The film will now air on A&E in three parts. Part one, The Awakening, will air on October 9. Take a look at the clip below, if you dare!
