Review & Giveaway: Win a Set of “Harry Potter” BlenderBottle Shaker Cups!

by Lainey Ruffner · September 24, 2018

Looking for a new way to sport your love of Harry Potter or your House pride at the office, at your gym, or just to the random passerby? The folks over at BlenderBottle have just the thing for you, and we’ll be giving away three sets of BlenderBottle shaker cups!

Now available in six wizarding world designs, including a design for each Hogwarts House, these magical bottles will have you saying, “Accio, protein shakes!” without any fear of lumpy drinks. Each bottle is also odor resistant, features a rounded base for easy cleaning, and includes a wire whisk BlenderBall® to ensure each drink is mixed properly and completely, even with the thickest of ingredients. Another bonus is that every bottle is BPA and phthalate free.

We got the chance to review three of these bottles: the Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Harry Potter (a lightning bolt with glasses) designs. Here’s what each of our reviewers thought of their bottles!

Lainey's Review - Ravenclaw BlenderBottle

When I found out about these new Potter designs, I was very excited. I love finding new Potter-themed items I can use in my daily life. They seem so much more practical to purchase than collectibles for display only, and it gives me another fun way to show off my love of Harry Potter around town!

BlenderBottle just came out with six great new Potter designs, and I love all of them, so it was very difficult to choose just one to review, but I decided to show some House pride by selecting the Ravenclaw-themed shaker.

I was generally pleased with the quality of the bottle. The Harry Potter shakers only come in the Pro28 style, so they are slightly upgraded from the BlenderBottle Classic, but it’s a great mid-size bottle. I can’t imagine needing one much larger than this, and of course, if I want less, I can easily not fill it the whole way.

The lid and cap are very snug and have a great seal when closed completely so you don’t have to worry about leaks. The SpoutGuard is the perfect addition because you no longer have to worry about transferring any germs from your hands to the spout while opening and closing the cap. This is such a useful feature for when I take my shaker to the gym and it makes me feel better about taking it to work as well since I work in health care. I haven’t had the bottle very long, but I haven’t noticed any residual odor from previous shakes and everything I’ve made so far has very been well blended.

Last, but definitely not least, is, of course, the wonderful Ravenclaw crest. The design and details are really lovely. The crest design is not the overly ornate one from the movies, but of a much simpler style, which I actually prefer. Unfortunately, as with most Ravenclaw products developed after the movies, the crest appears to feature a raven rather than an eagle. However, since the bird is basically just a detailed silhouette, it leaves a little bit of ambiguity to the image that allows me to keep trying to convince myself that it might be an eagle. The colors of the crest are also blue and silver rather than Ravenclaw’s stated House colors of blue and bronze. I think the silver works well in this case, though, because it helps the image stands out from the blue bottle. I really like that the crest has a bit of a Quidditch twist to it as well, featuring a Snitch and goal posts at the top. It makes the decal look a little sportier, which seems fitting for a BlenderBottle.

In general, I love the quality of this bottle and will certainly be using it often to mix smoothies and protein shakes. I like that the Harry Potter design is not too gaudy or overstated, but is tactfully done and well detailed. Having this new bottle has made me really excited to go to the gym so I can show off my Ravenclaw pride!

Aimee's Review - Slytherin BlenderBottle

There are a few things I loved about this bottle. The flip cap and the adjustable carry loop are kind of a revelation for me. Previous brands I have used don't seem to have such flexibility with the carry loop. The BlenderBottle shaker cup allows you to choose the position, even making it nearly flush with the cap so it's barely noticeable.

I was also pleasantly impressed with the wire whisk. I've recently started a journey into getting healthier, which has included my first foray into protein drinks, and this bottle made my life a whole lot easier! Within seconds of adding my protein powder mix to the bottle and giving it a couple of shakes, the mix was done. I could hardly believe it!

Finally, the design! Let's be real. I'm 100% Slytherin and I want everything that shows my House pride. The Slytherin BlenderBottle does much more than just slap the House logo on the thing and call it a day. The company has taken the time to add details from the Quidditch pitch to each House bottle, which I completely appreciate.
