The “Crimes of Grindelwald” Press Tour Kicks Off in Beijing
The Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Beijing press premiere took place on October 28, marking the start of a press tour that will take the Crimes of Grindelwald cast around the world before the film’s release on November 16.
In attendance were Eddie Redmayne (Newt Scamander), Katherine Waterston (Tina Goldstein), Ezra Miller (Credence Barebone), and Jude Law (Albus Dumbledore). Eager to show the crowd just how happy they were to be back, Waterston showed off her Mandarin skills while Redmayne declared that “some of the greatest wizarding world fans are in China.”
The discussion soon turned to one of the new creatures featured in the upcoming film, the zouwu. Talking about the creature, which has Chinese origins, Redmayne described the zouwu as a fast and powerful creature that also has the ability to be “the cutest kitten in the world.” To show just how adorable the zouwu can be, Miller demonstrated the creature’s expressive, wide-eyed look, much to the crowd’s enjoyment.
Also discussed was Newt and Tina’s relationship, and it seems as though the magical couple might not have had the easiest of times since we left them at the end of the first film. Speaking to the Global Times before the event, Waterston elaborated on the state of Newt and Tina’s relationship and hinted at the role it would play in the upcoming film:
Between the first film and the second film, they’ve been in a long-distance relationship of sort – she is in New York and he is in London, and along the way she gets words saying that he marries someone else but he hasn’t… there’re a lot of misunderstandings that carry them quite away in this film.
Now we know that Newt and Tina end up together, but where will their relationship be at the end of Crimes of Grindelwald? Will we have to wait even longer to see Newtina on screen?
