Rupert Grint Set to Appear on Television Screens This Christmas

Rupert Grint is set to appear on the BBC’s The ABC Murders in a new murder mystery based on the classic Agatha Christie novel.

Grint will play Inspector Crome, a somewhat inept member of the police force. He will be joined by John Malkovich’s Hercule Poirot and fellow Potter alumna Shirley Henderson (Moaning Myrtle), who will play Rose Marbury, the owner of Marbury Boarding House.

The drama is based on the eponymous novel that follows the investigators as they hunt down a serial killer who leaves a singular calling card at the scene of his crimes: a copy of The ABC Railway Guide. Set in the 1930s, the plot will unfold as rising hostility across Europe leads to tension and increased suspicion across Britain.

As the miniseries draws closer to airing, an exclusive sneak peek has been released, teasing the relationship between Inspector Crome and Poirot. The video takes place in what could be Crome’s office and suggests that Crome and Poirot have a somewhat strained relationship. It’s been suggested that Crome, although once Poirot’s friend, has begun to doubt the aging detective’s skills, perhaps leading to the confrontation.

The first episode of the show will air on Boxing Day (December 26) on BBC One at 9 p.m., with the next two episodes following on consecutive nights.
