Catch Up on the Sweet Treats in “Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery”

by Brittany Bennett · January 26, 2022

Another month is nearly behind us as we navigate 2022 and the adventures ahead in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. To keep us busy, there’s been no shortage of adventures and quests. Let’s go over some of the excitement from this month and ponder what could be in store for February.

In our last update, Chapter 27 left us in suspense after our original plan to destroy a cursed object backfired. We determine the best way to deal with this object could be through Muggle means, so we turn to the Muggle Studies professor for help. Of all things, Professor Sikander has an enchanted microwave in his classroom, so we destroy the CD in a Muggle fashion and the curse is broken. We confirm Merula as a double agent, and we finally figure out the mystery of the swan Patronus. It seems Talbott isn’t the only person who deeply misses his mother. Now it’s time to figure out who sent the cursed CD to Jacob and why.

Did you participate in the special adventure of Flume’s Clues? This sweet quest had us running all over Hogwarts to find special Chocolate Frog cards. The students who were lucky enough to find one of the cards received an invite to an exclusive feast of endless sweets. This feast is probably the closest we will ever get to experiencing Candyland.

Once you’ve gotten your fill of Chocolate Frogs and pumpkin pasties, let’s head down to the Quidditch pitch to clean up the disastrous mess left by the gnomes. After a discussion with the Quidditch Captains, everyone comes together to de-gnome the Quidditch pitch. Madam Hooch is pleased with the teamwork and announces that Quidditch can officially begin again. Now we’re hanging in suspense to see if our team can win the Quidditch Cup.

Once you’re caught up on chapters and completed some adventures, there’s still more to do in Hogwarts Mystery. The Magical Creatures Expeditions will be coming to the game soon. These expeditions will allow you to send your creatures into certain situations to gain some treasure. There’s always a catch – so be ready to spend your hard-earned notebooks.

Watching your Niffler snag some gold isn’t the only cuteness happening in-game. Have you admired the new pet looks you can get for your creatures? The Husky Cruppy look has us howling over the sweetness, and the purple owlet look is the perfect amethyst color for all the February babies celebrating their birthdays next month. Which is your favorite?

January has been packed with treats. Do you think we’ll have the chance for some more in-game romance in honor of Valentine’s Day next month? Let us know!
