MuggleNet Throwback: First look at Evanna Lynch as Luna Lovegood

This week in 2006, we were sent the very first Hi-Res images of Evanna Lynch as Luna Lovegood during the filming of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Evanna was born on August 16, 1991 in the small town of Termonfeckin, Ireland. She grew up just like one of us – a fan with a deep passion and love for everything ‘Harry Potter.’ During her pre-teen years, she sent letters to her hero J.K. Rowling, and Evanna was one of the fortunate ones to receive a response from Jo.

Evanna, after reading an article posted on MuggleNet, attended a casting call in London for the part of Luna Lovegood and won the roll against 15,000 other entrants. We have to admit, they definitely found the right actress to play the part.

You can now see the very first Hi-Res images that were released five years ago this week by Warner Brothers, showing Evanna Lynch portraying the part of Luna Lovegood.
