According to an article in the Sun Sentinel, a new report was released by AECOM (a Los Angeles-based market-research firm) and the Themed Entertainment Association, showing that the Wizarding World of Harry Potter experienced a dramatic 29% increase in attendance in 2011, which accounts for a majority of the overall theme park attendance in North America of 2.9% as an industry.

It was only five years ago today (May 30th) that Universal Studios and Warner Brothers made a joint announcement from Dumbledore’s Office at Leavesden Studios revealing the plans to build the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.
