Matt Lewis discusses Neville’s change of character in Deathly Hallows

In a new interview with the UK Press Association, Matthew Lewis discusses some of the changes that audiences will see in Neville Longbottom during Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

On some of the physical changes of Neville:

“The teeth and the ears were the first to go, and then the fatsuit came shortly after – I look a lot more like him in the new film. I didn’t mind wearing all those things because it was appropriate for the character. He’s been a bit more bloody and battered as he’s been living underground so we’ve made him slim out.”

As readers are aware, Neville becomes a completely changed character in the final installment. He turns into a reckless resistance leader who fights and becomes a heroic figure during the final battle of Hogwarts. Matt states that, “He’s (Neville) still not perfect, but he comes through where it counts.”
