RUMOR: Emma Watson in talks to star in Bollywood film

by Callum Lloyd Thomas · Published June 29, 2015 · Updated July 2, 2017

Emma Watson could soon be making her Bollywood film debut. The actress has reportedly been approached by director and producer Nandita Singgha for a role in her upcoming film Mid Dey, a biopic of the crime journalist Jyotirmoy Dey.

If Watson were to accept the role, she would star alongside the legendary Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, who has already been approached for the lead role. While Khan will be playing the lead role of the murdered crime reporter, Watson has been approached to play the role of a British journalist. Her character plays a pivotal role in the film since she is the one to break the news of Dey’s death to the world.

This is not the first time that Emma and Bollywood have been linked. Back in 2010, the actress spoke to DNA India of her admiration for the genre, saying,

I have seen a few [Bollywood films] but can’t name them. They seem to be really catchy.

Would you like to see Emma in a Bollywood movie? Let us know your thoughts!
