Eddie Redmayne on the Pressure of “Fantastic Beasts”

Even with so much news about Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them over the past few days, we can’t help but get excited for more! Following an interview about his role in The Danish Girl, actor Eddie Redmayne chatted with Cinema Blend about his role as Newt Scamander.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t much that he could divulge about the film itself:

I can’t [say anything], other than to say that I’ve just come back from filming last night, […] in Liverpool.

On the screenplay, penned by J.K. Rowling herself, he said,

If we can deliver on what J.K. Rowling has written, I think it’ll be a wonderful thing.

Taking on a starring role within J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world seems a little bit daunting. When asked if he had talked to Daniel Radcliffe about the film, however, Redmayne responded,

I haven’t, actually. I haven’t. I know Dan a wee bit, and I… at some point, I should focus on making this [movie] right first and live up to what he’s done already.

If the images from the set, plot description, and character descriptions are any indication, though, we think everything will be just fine!
