Tom Burke, Holliday Grainger to Return for “Lethal White” Television Adaptation

It’s been only a few weeks since the fourth installment in the Cormoran Strike series, Lethal White, was released, and fans are already clamoring to know when Strike and Robin’s latest adventure will make it onto the small screen. While no release date has been announced, the first step of signing stars Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger on to the project is complete.

The confirmation of Burke’s return as Strike and Grainger’s as Robin is no surprise since executive producer Ruth Kenley-Letts assured fans over the summer that the actors were interested in continuing their involvement with the series. Now, Variety has made the news official.

We’ve also got our first details about the show’s structure and distribution. While The Cuckoo’s Calling adaptation ran in three episodes, and The Silkworm and Career of Evil both in two, the hefty Lethal White will be adapted in four installments – great news for fans who are eager to see more of their favorite detectives. As with the previous seasons, the show will air on the BBC in the United Kingdom. Although CB Strike previously aired on Cinemax in the United States, an international distributor has not yet been confirmed for Lethal White.

BBC drama boss Piers Wenger expressed his praise:

J.K. Rowling, once more in the guise of Robert Galbraith, has delivered another brilliant, knotty and original crime story. We are honored to be working with Jo, and once more with Holliday and Tom as Robin and Strike, to bring this hit series back to BBC One.

Don’t worry – we’ll keep you updated as we learn more about when fans can expect to see Lethal White hit television!

Proud Gryffindor; don't hate.
