Check it out! Warner Brothers has released the one-sheet for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1.
It depicts Hogwarts in absolute shambles and includes the headline "It All Ends Here".
Do you like this poster? It's mighty depressing!

Love it. Gorgeous art, and I love the caption. I hope they expand it for one of the movies, and include the title, instead of just "HP7" though.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:29:11
I love it. It gave me the chills. It's spooky and depressing. I think it looks great though.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:29:34
I think it's absolutly amazing...
The films has mature, and this is the proof..
Indeed mixed emotions like FireDragons321 says..
But I think the epicnes of this poster...
Is the proof that the Hp Movies wil end with epicness

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:30:03
That is beautiful! They do need more part 1 stuff but Hogwarts burning is amazing and sad!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:30:11
OK, I think I would be fine with this if there wasn't fire... I dunno, I just don't imagine Hogwarts in flames. In ruin, sure, (though maybe this is a bit too much), but not aflame...
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:30:35
I actually think that's really cool. I like it. It should definitely serve to make the casual fan curious.
Before people start getting all up in arms, remember that this is only the first of likely many, many, many, many, many different posters.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:30:38
looks amazing and totally not wat i expected!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:30:53
good lord, that's depressing. i like it, but i don't know if i like it as a poster to represent the movie...
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:31:09
Well, it is really depressing. It's like... ending and there's Hogwarts all destroyed :( But, it is nice that there's not a huge Harry plastered on the front like we've seen many times before.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:31:12
The poster is great. WB is continuing the dark and moody promotion, but why are they trying to make us cry? :(
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:31:21
beautiful!! Hogwarts is amazing when its burning. So sad it's ending!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:31:40
That looks totally awesome.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:32:11
Oh, and it's got that golden touch like the U.S. DH cover has... just an obersvation.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:32:52
WOW This looks INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:33:10
this is quit depressing :'( im afraid to watch deathly hallows now.. i really am! =[ ahh. i couldve gone without seeing this.. i think possibly that the movie will be rated R.. idk though...
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:33:42
It looks awesome...but it's part 1!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:34:08
Wow, it's beautiful! I really want a poster of this to put it up in my room, but I'm not sure how it will do advertising the movie to people who aren't already obsessed. It is so sad though. Seeing Hogwarts like that makes me want to cry. :(
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:34:11
Yah, offical poster!!! So happy, than very upset as I looked at it. I want to cry. ''It All Ends Here'' is an amazing, but yet depressing headline. It is so true. It all ends at Hogwarts... Then there is the picture. So true and depressing. Hogwarts looks beautiful even on fire
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:35:45
I was shocked first time i saw this with mixed emotions but its really growing on me and its so sad to look at :( can't wait for the movie!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:36:01
Amazing, Amazing, AMAZING
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:36:39
I'm confused. This Hogwarts in the poster is different from the MTV sneak peek and the new trailer. It's structure is back to the pre-Deathly Hallows form, because the viaduct is no longer attached to the grounds but to the castle instead.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:38:12
It's really depressing, and it makes me sad, but it's beautifully done. Even in shambles Hogwarts is still majestic.
|

|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:38:43
I love it! It does make me sad... but I think that's what WB is trying to do... and it will definitely catch people's attention. :)
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:41:06
Eh, I'm not a fan of this one. The art is gorgeous, but the concept...meh. I was hoping for a slogan more along the lines of hope, not dismay. But that's just me. It is an upgrade from the last few posters, though. I didn't want to see another one with Harry standing there pointing his wand at something lol
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:41:19
I love it, but I'm not sure if I'd be able to have in in my bedroom, it's just so depressing! It's very emotional, though.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:41:39
I think I wanna do a painting of this
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:41:53
Oh my gosh. It's perfect. :[ I love it, but it's a painful reminder the movies are coming to a close.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:42:51
It looks awesome and I love it. I do wish that they would include the full title, but it's still amazing.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:43:11
This is actually incredibly moving. Its shocking and gives a real sense of what is going to happen in the movies. Dissapointed its been released so early but this is a fantastic poster.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:45:56
im not sure how i feel about this. one part of me really like it but im not sure if hogwarts should be shown as the advertisement for part one since the trio doesn't return to hogwarts in part one
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:47:04
It's not an advertisement for the first one. As you can see on it it's for both.
There will of course be many more that will be released for just Part I, people.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:49:01
@Gregoire Furet Actually the viaduct was always attached to the castle. The wooden bridge was attached to the grounds.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:49:08
Holy crap that is depressing! :[ But I can't wait for the epicness that is the movieee!! :D
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:49:32
I think it's awesome. It's depressing but the whole book is depressing! I kinda like this type of emo stuff tho. I would totally hang this ok my wall. I already have it as my background on my iPhone!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:51:46
It is so depressing and makes me want to cry. It will be put on my wall nonetheless though. It is an amazing poster but it makes me so sad to think that this is the end of such an incredible journey.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:52:05
I feel like crying. That's depressing looking. It looks amazing, it's going to be a epic 2 part movie.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:52:21
I love it. It really fits with the tone of the last book. I'm getting more excited about this by the minute.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:52:32
I think it's great. It shows The Deathly Hallows it not something to bring your five year old to.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:52:44
TOTALLY LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
|

|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:53:04
Wow. This is such a suprise. I really wasn't expecting a poster like this. I agree the art work is beautiful, and I understand the headline; so many people die in DH, Voldemort is defeated, and the series all ends here. But it is REALLY sad. I think WB picked an intriguing part of DH to focus on, and it conjures a really powerful image.com I love it; a real sign that the films have matured. x

|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:54:50
It looks so amazing! I just know they are going to make the fight scene be the end all be all.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:55:38
I love this picute. I like how you can even see hogwarts reflection in the lake.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:56:12
very cool poster! i love it!:)
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:56:25
It is most definately depressing. The end of an era, the end of half my life, my castle under seige. But it is beautiful and exciting as well!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:57:22
Its totally sad and depressing but its visually very fitting. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:57:48
It looks good but i hate seeing hogwarts in such a state :( it just brings the finalty to it!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 16:58:26
Wow, that is depressing! I was expecting a poster with Harry knocking back a butterbeer while he sat in an Adirondack chair and used Voldemort's crumpled corpse as a footrest...
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:02:18
i actually like it. it shows how the final battle will conclude everything and how the castle might turn out.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:03:10
What an horribly sad image..
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:03:20
Wow, and I thought the trailer was epic!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:03:42
I just heard that Warner Brothers has received 465 calls from out-of-work general contractors...
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:10:33
Wow, kind of makes me want to cry.
As one of the many posters they will undoubtably release, I really like it. Still waiting to see more of part 1 though...
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:11:14
I want this. Where can we buy it?
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:11:16
Wow this is absolutely AMAZING. But, it's not from part 1. It's from part 2. I don't want to keep getting spoiled for it!!
Amazing artwork though. Truly terrifying and sad :'( Even though I don't like that it's from part 2, it's my new desktop background hehe :)
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:12:05
This is incredible! I love it!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:12:39
Dude! This poster makes me horribly sad and depressed. But as sad as this poster is, its also totally EPIC! I love it. As soon as it becomes available its going right up on my wall. :) The title really depresses me though. "It all ends here" :( Its the end of an era. Im definitely going to cry at the end of each movie. (part 1 and 2) -----P.s is Mugglenet going extremely slow today for anyone else or is it just me?
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:15:07
It is certainly depressing, but very intriging as well. I think it really sets the mood, and people who only see the movies, and have never read the books, will be promted to see HP7 right away. I only wish they had included the actual title, and that it was more of a part 1 poster, but it's still amazing!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:17:43
It's a flashback to the Sorcerer's Stone movie poster! http://i45.tinypic.com/123kxna.jpg
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:17:58
Wow! I love it. It's extremely depressing but beautiful. They should make a poster of this. I would definitely buy it. I agree that this is tons better than the usual blue colored posters with harry pointing his wand. The colors are amazing and the pocture is perfect. Everything about it is perfect.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:18:38
The poster is both sad, but definitely catches your attention! Great work.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:23:08
I think that as a first poster, this is INCREDIBLE. Just look at the emotional reactions it's getting out of all of us! It certainly is striking and sad and shocks you. I think there will be more conventional posters (with Harry, full title, etc.) to come that will appeal to those who haven't read the books, but for us fans this is going to be THE MOST emotional, I have a feeling. Seriously, this is not just advertising. Its sooo amazing. :)
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:23:57
Howdy Pards,
Well, take heart folks, Hogwarts will rise again...and the onliest thing that "ends" here
is Voldemort and his little gang of Halloween
Trick or Treaters...
Hogwarts in all it's glory will always be
around...rebuilt...and carryin' on the time honored traditions that we have all come to know and love.
Warner Brothers by the way sees ONE MOVIE in two parts. Not two movies. I believe that
they will continue to market the thing as one
event. So, come November, prepare to see a
two hour HALF a movie... Then, prepare to wait until July of next year for the second half.
Voldemort ends here...Hogwarts will live on.
Adios for now. Talk to ya on down the trail.
Wild Ol' Dan

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:25:25
It's a good poster, it's really depressing to a point though, the "It all ends here" makes it notable that the end of the Potter series is coming to a close. Good poster, would have chosen something else for the first poster though.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:25:32
The picture, itself, is gorgeous but it's kinda disturbing to see Hogwarts like that. =[
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:27:54
the poster is amazing. it looks amazing. if someone hasn't read the books and saw the poster, they'll know something bad will know. and the comparision between the two posters....OMG, the difference is huge. plus i love the top of the poster; how it says, "it all ends here."
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:28:10
fantastic. and i love that it takes you back to the sorcerer's stone poster.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:28:19
Travis Bickle -- your right. It totally looks like they are mimicking the very first poster. Maybe they did it that way on purpose.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:33:20
@Travis Bickle wow i never noticed that before! that's crazy intense!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:33:39
I love it! It's so creepy, and eerie. It gave me the chills.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:34:08
WOW!!!! It looks AMAZING!!!! When I saw it, my heart DROPPED! I'm assuming that's what WB was going for. This isn't the same Hogwarts and the same characters from movie one. It's both horrifying, devastating, and yet empowering at the same time. I LOVE it!!!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:34:49
I absolutely love it. It is by far the best one sheet I have ever seen for any movie. I cannot wait for Deathly Hallows!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:35:28
It all ends here... enough said
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:35:38
Anyone who doesn't think this poster fits the movie, CLEARLY hasn't read the book.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:37:53
i dont remember the castle being on fire in the book, just that it was destroyed. anyway, i love it. its sad and awesome at the same time. i dont want to see hogwarts like this, but i want to see everything leading up to the castle looking like this. if that makes any sense :)
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:41:28
This is magnificent.
The beautiful sky sweeping softly into darkness; the dreadful, dark blue dome illuminated by turrets smashed and set aflame; the smoke escaping through wounded walls and broken windows; and the immediate sense of present panic all give you the emphatic notion that you're not looking at ruins, but a moment captured mid-barrage!
Look at how most of the water appears docile apart from the place where the reflection is floating. The image of Hogwarts drifts and ripples in its own small storming sea.
I think the image is meant to be distinguished in a way that allows both those who have, and those who have not read the series to understand that many of the people who exist in this story will not survive it. It's devastating and exclamatory. It encapsulates the breadth and scope of war, and makes it indisputably clear that this isn't a children's story, but a story with children in it.
It should also be both acknowledged and understood by all fans - as I'm sure it is while MuggleNet continues to be a place where truly appreciative readers come to share their thoughts and enthusiasms - that Hogwarts is, as Rowling has put it herself, a character in the story; one of the most essential characters, no doubt. It's Harry's second home)the first being the year he spent in Godric's Hollow) and his stalwart companion. An image of the castle beset and infested with flames is a clear and present conveyance of everything that precedes it. Remember the trailer for Chamber of Secrets? "..And the struggle for the future of Hogwarts will begin."
.......I'll say.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:46:22
wow, I love how it mirrors the very first Harry Potter poster with all the boats heading to Hogwarts
I'm a sucker for circular things like that :')
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:50:18
I think it looks pretty cool, but I do not like the saying on it. "It all ends here." Seriously?! I think they could have picked something better. Besides that I love the idea that it is so close to the first movie poster. Maybe they got the idea from the book covers where the first one and the last book had almost the same curtains.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:50:57
this picture makes me want to cry!!!! but then again hogwarts does look SUPER amazing! i guess i feel mixed about this...
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:52:14
@Alison: Me too. JKR did it with the books, so I'm so happy to see that they've applied it to the movie poster! This looks so good!!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 17:57:16
This sent chills down my spine...
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 18:02:51
this doesn't look like the movie and its defn missing something
but my concern still lies wid the final battle (the pic of v and h wid dead bodies around - not the epic finale i pictured and i hope thats not it)
i also not the deatheater and train is when they take luna
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 18:04:24
It's magnificent. Glorious and tragic at the same time. Loved it =D
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 18:05:51
That looks totally awesome.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 18:07:07
I love how it just says HP7 rather than the whole title. It's like they're saying 'come on people, you should know this font by now' :)
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 18:12:21
It is mighty depressing, but it's mighty awesome, too. "It all ends here," so true and bittersweet.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 18:30:42
Nice movies poster. I am sad that it is ending yet excited to see how they end the series.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 18:32:26
I think that this is a great poster. As someone has already said, it is getting really emotional reactions (which is the point of any trailer, poster, etc.) I think that it will make non-book readers want to see the films even more, because they're probably asking themselves, "why is Hogwarts on fire?" Deathly Hallows has many dark aspects, so why shouldn't the poster reflect that?
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 18:38:22
I absolutely love this, but it's so sad! It's really an extremely depressing poster, but it's gorgeous and just so well done.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 18:45:03
hi fellow h.p. peoples.. do u think the movie will be rated R or PG13?
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 18:45:37
Anyone notice they made the bridge thats connected to the Castle courtyard(the place in front of the Great Hall) stretch all the way out into the Forbidden forest?
Like if thats how the giants and spiders and Death Eaters will get into the Castle grounds.
Anyways this poster is amazingly done, the colours and everything about it is so amazing.

|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 19:14:08
it makes me so sad to see Hogwarts like this, but the movie looks like its gonna be really good. And i was surprised(in a good way)not to see Harry's face on it.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 19:15:36
Michaela: I REALLY doubt that it will be rated R. I don't see many parents taking their kids to see a rated R movie.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 19:16:57
It kinda makes me want to cry :'(
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 19:23:32
What an amazing poster! Sends shivers down my spine. Great tagline, defenitely something that people will remember. This poster lives up to the trailer and that is quite a feat. I would love to see this in full size, I am sure that it would take my breath away (it already has a little bit). The end has come!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 19:23:38
I love this, but it also makes me want to cry! :'(
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 19:27:21
Wow. It's so beautiful. But it makes me want to cry. Personally, I'm thinking too much flame, but that's okay. I LOVE how it just says HP7. It's like a little shout-out to all of us who see "HP" and don't even have to think, "What does that stand for again?" Anywho, I would love to put up a poster like this in my room but this one's just too darn depressing. I've got mixed feelings about the "It All Ends Here" caption. It's good in regards to this being where Voldy bites the dust and where the war ends, but it's kind of also saying, this is where a lot of good people lose their lives, and this is where the Potter series ends forever. So, mixed feelings here. But it's too depressing.

I really like it is very sad
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 20:06:51
aw, Hogwarts was always one of my favorite parts about the books :/ It's heartbreaking to see it like this
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 20:13:34
I think that though the poster itself is amazingly well-done (I love that they abbreviated it to HP7), it IS terribly depressing to see Hogwarts looking like that. It really brings home the fact that the end of the films - and the Hogwarts we know - is very near...
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 20:17:32
that is truly the most epic (and depressing/exciting) movie poster that has ever been created. i'm going to use it as my wallpaper!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 20:20:09
oh my gosh. this picture is so awesome. and so depressing! i can't believe that this is the first picture. it looks so amazing but i can't believe its almost over!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 20:20:27
ohh i like it actually. i mean i dont feel that it really fits for just part one but it does say part one and 2 and the bottom. i like it ^_^ *nods* i didnt at first but the more i look at it the more i like it.

this is truly the most epic, depressing, and exciting movie poster ever created. i'm going to use it for my desktop wallpaper. it's hard to believe that in one year the end will truly(sorta...long live the fandom!) be here.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 20:21:07
I get that everyone's upset seeing Hogwarts on fire and all, but hello! It's evidence of the ravages of war! I think it takes home the point that war effects everybody and everything, even places that seem as sacred as Hogwarts.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 20:27:09
i can't wait for the rest of the posters!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 20:35:36
does anyone know whether you can buy this poster anywhere? if so, where?
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 20:47:59
it's depressing, but it's also really pretty and chilling... just seeing the poster makes me want to cry D;
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 20:48:14
I understand why people like it, I mean it is pretty sick, however I feel like they should be advertising just part one and Hogwarts isn't destroyed until part two. It is beautiful and epic (and a bit depressing). I was a little confused because the article said "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1 one-sheet released!" but on the poster it has the years for part one and two. I get that WB wants to get everyone hyped up for the ending but there is still another movie until it ends.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 20:48:59
An AMAZING poster, omg! <3
As for the "It all ends here", its funny, because I used that SAME exact line in a DH poster I made for graphic design class last year! :'D I was like "WHOOAA".
So for the people all like "really? That was the best they could come up with?", I'm like.... 99% sure it's a line from the book.
Since... I don't know where else I would come up with such a thing, and WB end up using the same thing. lmao.
(Needless to say, I do like the tagline)
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 21:25:34
The graphics look really good, but it doesn't seem like Harry Potter.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 21:26:11
I love this! It is quite shocking. When I first saw it, it felt like a kick in the stomach, because I never thought I'd see my favorite fictional school in such a devastating condition
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 21:43:02
Excellent, Epic, and Brilliant. The Poster is Amazing! I think it really captures the serious tone of the movie and shows everyone that this movie will be bigger and better than all of the other HP movies. And I love the "It all ends here" line. Just reading that I felt a pump of adreniline. I think its a great poster for the movie.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 22:14:53
Wow this is great! This is the beginning of the end : (

|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 22:36:30
I love it. Though I'm not sure how to describe the mix of feelings that came over me when I first saw it.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 22:45:24
It's so beautiful, but so sad.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 22:51:02
The first thing I thought was "Whoah!" I think this poster is amazing because it really captures your attention. I love the giant chunk missing from the closest tower. I think to those who have read the books, it helps further define the path the filmmakers are taking with DH, and how dark it is, and for those who do not read the books but know HP from the movies, will be astonished to see the main setting for the past 6 films in ruins.
In all, I think WB is doing an excellent job of hyping up these next two movies.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 22:51:08
I agree with Pantera2012, I seriously doubt it will be R, BUT, it will be a high-rated PG-13. The only thing that would push it to an R would be four-letter swearing, or sexual scenes. And neither of those are in the book. They're gonna keep it as clean as they can without cutting out the feel of the story. I'm guessing some of the warnings will be stuff like 'scenes of violence, intense action and scenes of a sensual nature'..that doesn't deserve an R rating in my opionion, but it's not up to me lol.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 23:16:17
That's just awesomely WICKED!!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 23:30:01
aw, thats sad. but as harry says, "happiness will come". i guess that means hogwarts will go back to how it used to be 2.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 23:44:05
its kind of apocalyptic!! this definitely suggests that they are going to be destroying the castle in the movie...should be a pretty devastating battle sequence! at least they're not sugar coating it!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-02 23:46:05
the tag line "It All Ends Here" reminds me of the All American rejects song "It Ends Tonight" which always seemed to go with Deathly Hallows to me
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 00:06:13
i know it's just a poster but it is an amazing one. i was blown away by it. yes it's kinda depressing. my hair ends were raising and it keeps on raising every time i try to view the poster.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 00:11:59
I quite like how the tagline really reaches out to both the general audience and those who are HP-dedicated. To those who doesn't know the ending, it would make them wonder what's going to happen. To those who do, it makes them look back at this wonderful era. Nice job, WB!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 00:16:24
I actually have this poster as my background. When I showed this to one of the boys that I watch, his jaw dropped and said son of a *****! At least he went beep for the cuss word. Thank WB for making a wonderful poster!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 00:46:56
this is the most depressing thing i have ever seen and you would NOT believe the depressing things i have seen..
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 00:55:19
The scenery is quite beautiful but yes, the picture is overall depressing. Who wants to see Hogwarts in flames and being destroyed?
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 01:23:18
WB isnt messing around.
This is such a great symbol for the entire installment. Im proud to see true passion and art work being put into these last monumental movies.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 01:48:19
couldn't WB come up with a more happy poster??
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 01:55:51
There is something so gut wrenching about this poster. I actually felt a sting when I looked at it. WB and Heyman and Yates and Barron and everyone there know exactly what they were doing with this.
Firstly, for someone who is not a fan of the book but of the movies, he/she will definitely be in shock and the reaction will be: I can't miss this.
For someone who isn't even a fan of the movies, he/she would probably stop and be like: woah woah, what? Isn't that that magical Harry Potter school castle thing? That looks pretty cool.
As for the Harry Potter fans, there comes the most complex reaction, but true for the majority. Reading Harry Potter allows you to be there with the trio. In their classes, in their arguments, in their adventures, and in their world. Just as Hogwarts was a home for Harry, it was a home for us. We know what this poster means and how it go this way. It doesn't make it hurt any less though. This is our home too and we love it and seeing it in this form hurts. We don't need a reason to go watch the films, but this poster makes it really hit home that this is the end.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 02:40:14
@George that's so true! I was going to watch the film (both parts), but this poster makes it even more desirable.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 04:05:53
This looks amazing and epic! :)
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 04:28:54
I'm very happy they did this, it's beautiful and it works really well. I love it!!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 04:29:03
Wow... this is so beautiful - and heartwrenching. I actually just cried. It is an amazing image though.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 06:01:05
*finally gets her tears under control* I love it... *bursts into tears again*
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 06:02:47
ok i love the poster its simply amazing and id luv to have it up in my room
i luv depressing stuff so it doesnt matter
but yeh i dont think this wud be the perfect poster for dh cuz well its hp and the dh not hp and the battle for hogwarts
i think wb is putting too much into the battle for hogwarts ...little into the hallows and i wonder what they've done about the horcruxes
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 06:21:30
This should be the final full DH promo activity. Now let's get back to Part 1. Anywho, the poster is incredible.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 07:38:38
I mean this is exciting... theres a poster out now! it will be epic! 1 more year and HP will be done....... forever
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 07:53:43
I don't like this image at all. There is no magic behind this in comparison to SS. I know that this is the way it happens but it has far too much imaginative closure for my liking
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 08:45:24
I really like the image, but not the Hp7 thing. Why couldn't they just put Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows?
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 09:12:14
It is depressing, but it is also powerful symbolism, both for the magical war and the trio's education ending, they've gone from school kids to adults in this film. I think it's great how it was decided to use Hogwarts for the first and final films.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 10:18:18
I love this. It really hits home seeing this school that has been Harry's safe haven since the beginning in shambles..It really sets the tone as we prepare to embark on the final journey where it all ends.. along with our favorite characters, I really can't wait!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 10:44:56
I like it.....but I don't want it to say HP7. I don't really remember Hogwarts with THAT much fire....ah well, it's going on MY wall no matter what!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 10:45:20
Oh my days... Is it sad that icried? Its really sad to see the place that ive wanted to go to for so long, in this type of state.... But istill look forward to the film!!! :)
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 10:47:35
For the tone of the movies, this poster really fits :), but I wanna cry when I see Hogwarts is flames :(
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 10:55:47
I love it. : ) Like someone said, though, I hope they expand the title to full instead of just HP7.
BUT DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN BUY THIS POSTER? LIKE A WEBSITE? LET ME KNOW.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 11:33:53
this is more than amazing , beautiful art work , makes me wanna cry!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 11:34:09
i think it's great how they made the First poster and the last poster awfully similar. The only thing is, how will they make the Part 2 poster?
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 11:45:15
That picture makes me cry! But we all knew it was coming. As the great Rubeus Hagrid would say, "What would come, would come, and we'll have to meet it when it does.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 12:16:51
Wow it's so amazing. I started crying when I say it. I think it would be better if the reflection in the Great Lake showed Hogwarts before it was destroyed. I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 13:09:06
wow!great poster!im gonna print it.

|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 13:20:12
Woah!!!! This is so cool and chilling! It literally gave me goosebumps looking at it!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 14:15:07
This is an incredibly beautiful poster. It reminds me of what I believe Andrew said on the live Deathly Hallows trailer podcast. We always associate Hogwarts with the children going back to school and everything is all positive and brings sanctuary to a lot of kids including Harry. In this poster the mood is totally reversed and The emotion is dark and upsetting. This is because this placed called "home" by many is being destroyed.I agree with people who would have wished for a poster just for part one. However I suppose that WB is trying to really emphasize the two movies as one story and ultimately one result and conclusion to the Harry Potter story. I cannot wait to see part one's poster and I am hoping it will be focused on just the trio like all of the other DVD covers and posters.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 16:16:49
i like the intensity in it! i deffinentaly want it, but its not something that wood make me very joyful by looking at it. over all though i LOVE it!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 17:18:08
Its not for part 1. Its for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. that means parts 1 and 2. This is one more split in two parts. This idea that they are two completely different movies is really starting to p!$$ me off.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 17:20:32
Every single advertisement (posters, trailers, tv spots, etc.) SHOULD be for te whole movie. not just the first half.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 17:53:16
Andrew W. I totally agree with you, and I think that WB is advertising both movies as just one really long movie which happens to divided in two parts... now about the poster itself, is the best thing I've ever seen... They made such a great job, that as soon as i saw it made me feel like I was watching the flames from Hogsmead and felt the need to run towards it with the rest of the "friends of Hogwarts", all I could think of was: this is war and we need to defend this place... I was in the book again, it was awesome... They really capture the essence of a moment... beautiful and powerful
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 18:07:24
This does look amazing!! already saved the pic for my "wallpaper" after November. Yes it is sad but it gave me the chills. Also had an idea after reading that someone didn't want the poster hanging on the wall because it was too depressing...how about a puzzle? I'd definately put this together then glue it and hang it!!! Can't wait to make a collage from the HBP calendars I have and then a collage from the DH calendars I will buy. Oh..but wait.. what will I do AFTER THAT?!?!?!?!?! OHNO
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 18:16:31
I think this poster is AMAZING! Tagline is perfect, art is tragically beautiful, it totally captures the feel of Book 7...Brilliant! I'm wanting to make it my desktop image but I want it to cover the whole background like it does on the WB site....anyone know if an expanded landscape version of this can be found anywhere instead of the vertical one??
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 18:19:00
I also like the comment that someone wrote about us fans knowing the font. We don't need everthing spelled out for us. HP..we know what it means! :)
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 18:52:54
WOWWWWWW. i LOVE it!!! it's so scary suspensefull. I think it is good to give people who didn't read hp a taste of what's going to happen. the "hp7" instead of the full title is really cool, and it shows that hp has become so famous that everybody just knows what it stands for so there's no need to write it all out. the only thing i don't get- if this is a poster for part 1, then why is hogwarts on fire? shouldnt the battle happen in part 2?
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 18:59:50
NOOOO THE GRAND STAIRCASE!!!! Its like absorlutely destoryed!!!
But it is a great poster, like amazing, I am so excited.
I think DH will be the first movie that I'll cry in.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 21:28:28
Hogwarts looks so amazing here. Its come so far since movie 1. @Bell<3 This is not for part 1. As this picture clearly says, it is for HP7 (Parts 1 and 2).
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 22:06:06
Oh, man! I got the chills instantly when I saw this. Jeez, it's soo very devestating/depressing to see Hogwarts this way, but it is truely amazing! And that quote, Ahhhhh! "It All Ends Here." so simple and to the point, it's chilling and makes me feel scared. But oh so very epic!!!!! I love this! But it makes me want to cry.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 22:08:10
Oh, does anyone have any idea whether or not this poster will be put up for sale in the future, or if it is currently for sale?? I would love to have this poster for my collection, as I'm sure many others would too.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-03 22:42:16
It could have been much better. It doesn't see that its all going to end or it has ended.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-04 01:10:56
its too horrible to see Hogwarts lik that.....!!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-04 01:11:36
i loved the poster. the magic began in hogwarts and it will end there!!!!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-04 02:54:52
I like it a lot. That's a pretty epic tagline. Looks like someone took a bite out of that tower.

the painting deserves 2 b appreciated beyond measures!!1

this poster desrves 2 b appreciated beyond measures!!!!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-04 05:13:50
This actually terrified me. Something about it is so frightening. It's like my entire childhood is burning down not just a castle. And it got to me, and I think that is what makes it so effective.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-04 08:59:31
its a pretty cool poster but I hope they bring out one with some of the characters on too. It hits you that its going to be the very last films :(
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-04 09:39:51
I really like this poster. It's actually a great marketing campaign, because we're so used to seeing Hogwarts in all it's majesty that this is a bit of a shock! But I still really love the way this looks, I would put it in my room!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-04 12:39:27
this poster is AWESOME!!! I think a lot of not harry potter fans will be interested by this poster!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-04 12:44:50
Absolutely fantastic! And of course it's depressing! Book 7 was depressing!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-04 14:39:38
It's amazing! It's Hogwarts from the exact same angle we originally saw it in the first film, but instead of looking fantastic, it is destroyed. I'm not a fan of "HP7", but overall, it is incredible!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-04 19:37:33
I LOVE this poster-talk about amazing!!!!
I was already thrilled about the movie after see the epic trailer! Now I can't wait!!!!
The fact that it is so similar to the hp1 poster is so cool too, it really ties the whole series up. Counting down the days...
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-05 01:56:21
For those of you that prefer the full "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" title over the "HP7" I took it upon myself, as graphic designer, to take 10 minutes and change it for you. Check out the revised poster here:

I don't know why everyone is getting so upset we aren't seeing as much advertising for just the Part 1 film. You have to understand, when this film comes to DVD we're all going to be watching it as a whole. Not as two separate movies.
This is ONE book and ONE film, in two parts. Let us remember the whole reason it's two movies is because you can't show a 6+ Hour film in theaters. I'm just getting giddy about the thought of actually being able to watch a Harry Potter film in the future that is that long. I'm getting so pumped for the next year of Harry Potter.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-05 09:18:07
I particularly like the whole "hp7" thing, it gives it a much eerier feel than having the whole "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" title written out. I'm so excited for such a long Harry Potter film too!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-05 10:10:04
Does anyone have any idea where I can buy this poster? Or can we not purchase this?
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-05 12:54:55
Oh wow. It took my breath away when I saw it. I absolutely love it, though it does make me want to cry :). I think it is beautiful in symbolism and actuality. It puts focus back on the Wizarding World as a whole instead of just Harry. It's simple, moving, and beautiful. I really like the "HP7." Everyone (in general) knows it as "Harry Potter 7" not "Deathly Hallows", so it really portrays that this is it, this is the last one, it's the 7th and final one. Plus it flows with the simplicity of the poster. The "It all ends here." at the top gives me chills, because it is true in so many ways. I just love everything about it. I really hope we can purchase this one, as I have the poster for Sorcerer's Stone that this one kind of mirrors hanging on my wall, and I would LOVE to have them both hanging side by side to show the journey :).
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-05 14:43:05
Just one word: WOW!!!! This poster is just incredible, gave me chills, great artistry and really will get everyone pumped even more to go see the last films. The combination of colors, the color of the sky, the "darkness" of the picture, the tone in the water, HOGWARTS ON FIRE WITH AMAZINGLY DONE FIRE!! This poster is just awesome, and i totally love the tagline "It all ends here" because you can interpret it in two different matters: the fact that voldy dies there and the war is over, or the fact that the amazing era of harry potter is coming to an end (books and movies at least, cuz even though i know us fans will still be here and remember everything and pass it along, it's just... different). I would have liked them putting the whole title, cuz i love to read the titles of the books, but i believe this "HP7" thing is really amazing. I agree woth many of you when you say that the abbreviation of HP is very well known for most people, and they identificate it with Harry Potter. Also it's a great marketing campaign to keep reminding everyone when the films will be released.... And finally: dont worry people, there'll be posters just for part one before it is released, showing the trio somewhere raising their wands with worried faces (i love all harry posters; my favorite [including this one] was one of HBP where it's just harry in a close up, and you can see dumbledore's reflection in his glasses, with a great bluish backgroung. God this is amazing!!!! Thank JK and everyone involved for giving me and all of us this to more than enjoy.... CANT WAIT FOR DH!!!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-05 17:09:56
This poster is described with one word and only one: INCREDIBLY AMAZING (oops, those are 2, and i didnt even put epic into it). I just love everything: the artistry, the colors, hogwarts on fire (the battle is gonna be AWESOME), its reflection on the lake... everything. The tagline, as simple as it may seem, is completely true, and fits perfectly (and makes me sad and happy at the same time). About "HP7", well, at this time of the day, everyone knows what harry potter is. So just putting the letters just reforces the fact that harry potter is such a big phenomenon that people can just read letters and know what it is. As phoenixmaster said, they had already done it, so thats that. And its awesome they're putting so much emphasis into marketing ONE movie into two parts. If i had one doubt about me thinking this will be the best movies of all time and the perfect finale for the perfect series (which i didnt), i dont now. CANT WAIT FOR FREAKIN' DH!!
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-06 07:46:43
OMG AWSOME!!!! Though, the "hp7" is a bit wierd.

I LOVE IT!! I hope that this poster is going to be on sale..

WB taking liberties with the story again. Hogwarts sustained a considerable amount of damage but it was not wiped out as is being suggested from that poster. Only the room of requirement was set ablaze, not the whole castle.
Bits of the walls were blown down but the final showdown with Voldemort takes part inside the castle in the book. Voldemort is placed in a different room from those who died fighting for Hogwarts. Harry escapes the great hall where everyone was assembled and goes looking for Dumbledore in his office. He was looking forward to sleeping in his old dormitory bed and having Kreacher bringing him a sandwich.
So most of the castle was still standing at the end. No matter how beautiful the art work is, it is all wrong.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-10 12:38:17
Amazing, and very sad. I feel like crying. I don't like how it says HP7 instead of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows". Is this from part 1 or 2?
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-10 13:04:37
Anyone know when this will be released for fans to buy? in like poster form or something?

When I read the book I never thought that Hogwarts would be burning.... this is so sad... it signifies the end of the end, if you know what I mean...

I printed it out the minute it was posted on Snitch Seeker and ran around my house making a poster for it. So, I love it. but I hate it. It represents the end. It shows Hogwarts...Burning. I just can't believe it. Something so strong being shown so vulnerable.
I'm gonna cry so hard when that picture is shown in the movie....

I love this picture! I love how it kinda relates back to the 1st movie even though the castle looks different in some spots! It depresses me also knowing that Hogwarts is dying in some way and the Harry Potter journey is finally over!!! :(

OMG!this poster ROCKS!it's to bad that this is the final book though...

I am a tiny bit scared to see what the rating is gonna be. I mean, it kinda reminds me of the beginning to terminator 2 when the playground is on fire.

how come they had to make a poster of hogwarts burning down?

It looks GREAT!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see Harry Potter with a darker theme. PG-13 will be fine, but R would be better for this film I think :)

It makes a great contrast to the first time Harry saw Hogwarts coming in on the boat, Both pictures are at the same angle but the castle couldn't look more different. I'm excited for this new "road opera"....

These movies are going to be so brilliant and epic and intense and just great!
Well done, designers of this poster.
Thanks Mugglenet!

that is so awesome the only problem is that it's just a little to depressing

I love this poster. The artwork is amazing, and the caption is epic, but the only thing I dislike is the fact that it is yet again for both parts. We might not even see Hogwarts in the first movie so this is much more related to the second. We need more for the first part only and not both parts. I am extremely excited for these movies, but they are making think past the first one all the way to the second.

It makes it more intense so more people will want to see the movie. Thought they should right out the name of the movie instead of just putting HP7.

ok done cryin i think this poster symbilizes hogwarts fighting for its life and protection and the people who need it most. whoever thinks the end of the book wasnt lik this who cares it shows what it is lik and it shows the war and all the people/ghosts/ animals/ magical things/ animals etc. fought for hogwarts and for harry and to save the good and kill the evil even if it meant putting them in jepordy it shows the risk and fear and the people dying. i love this poster and if you dont lik it cause its "violent" then your to immature to see Harry Potter or read it. thank you.

I agree with above ^^ so amazing, but so darn sad!! :'(
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-22 16:24:43
It's so amazing. I mean, the sunrise in the background, the burning Hogwarts reflected on the lake, it's really saddening to know that the series is coming to an end. "It all ends here", it makes me want to cry.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-22 16:39:18
It's sad..This represents the end..Having to go through the end of the books stunk, and now the movies are coming to an end as well. It's depressing. All good things come to an end I suppose. It makes my heart ache seeing this poster.

Love, love, love, love! It's so epic...whoever designed it is brilliant.
I saw it at the theatre a few days ago and took bunches of pictures with it. :)
Love it! Well done, whoever designed this. :)

|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-24 13:21:40
I really love this.
It makes me sad. It's like, it's really finally ending. Most of my life has been me obsessing over Harry Potter, waiting excitedly for the next book or the next film to be released.
I guess tat part of my life is well...ending.

Love the picture and the quote. So epic!! It's depressing, yes, but very cool. I do wish they would have put the full name of the book instead of just HP7 though.
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-30 13:25:16
And for eveyone who is sad because this is really the end, i'm right there with you. There will be no more movies after this one. The bright side is, the second part isn't coming until next year!! It's still sad, but we can't let HP die just because the movies and books are over. If we do, we can't really call ourselves true HP fans, can we?
|
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-07-30 20:42:03
no we cant i totally agree with you!!! we cant let harry potter die just because the books and movies will be over next year. i cant wait until part 2. ive read deathly hallows 5 times and im so pumped for it!!!
