Official Harry Potter website reveals who will compose Deathly Hallows – Part 2 (and it’s not who you think)

The official Harry Potter website seems to have unintentionally announced who the composer for Deathly Hallows, Part 2 will be – and it’s not who was rumored.

Yes, in September Warner Brothers Brazil had said John Williams was on board to score Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.

But a good catch by Filmonic reveals otherwise.  The official Harry Potter website has a bio for Part 1 composer Alexandre Desplat, and it has this little nugget at the end:

“He next starts work on ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2,’ the conclusion of the Harry Potter franchise.“

Fans had hoped John Williams would return for Part 2 since he scored the first three films and wrote such iconic pieces as ‘Hedwig’s Theme’, among others.  It’s likely his schedule was just too full.
