Could Bellatrix Have Had a Child by Lord Voldemort?

Update: Comments on this Quibble can now be posted under the essay itself, right here.

Our next Quibble of the Week titled “Bellatrix’s Secret” comes to us from Melissa, and she poses a very interesting question. Considering her dark, flirtatious nature, her undying loyalty to the Dark Lord, and her possible dissatisfaction with married life, is it possible Bellatrix and Voldemort were ever more than master and death servant… resulting in a child?

Melissa thinks so. In her essay she writes,

“Jo states in DH that Bellatrix spoke to Voldemort as if he were a ‘lover.’ Voldemort tells Bellatrix at Malfoy Manor ‘No higher pleasure…that means a great deal, Bellatrix, from you.'”

Melissa has certainly pointed us towards some interesting textual evidence in making this claim…but what do you think? Is it conceivable that there was ever a romantic relationship between Bellatrix and Voldemort? Or is this purely the stuff of Fan Fiction?
