“Harry Potter” short-listed for visual effects Academy Award
The USA Today has just announced that the short-list of nominations for the Academy Award for Visual Effects includes Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.
Yesterday, we shared a report regarding the visual effects supervisor for the Harry Potter series, Tim Burke, on the creation of some of the crucial scenes in the film. Today, Tim’s team has been listed among the ten finalists vying for the coveted Oscar, and we think the Harry Potter franchise has an excellent chance of winning this Oscar.
Here are the other short-listed nominees:
- Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol
- Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
- Real Steel
- Rise of the Planet of the Apes
- Captain America: The First Avenger
- Transformers: Dark of the Moon
- X-Men: First Class
- The Tree of Life
- Hugo
The final nominations will be announced on January 24, and the Academy Awards will be presented to the winners on February 26.
